R912525 1 Posted March 24, 2014 Hello I was wondering if anyone has come up with a clever way of fixing the delay from when the bik movie plays and when you can start seeing it? In some cases the movie nearly finishes before it even starts showing up and it can be quite annoying. I assume its from it switching resolutions but im not sure. Im running the steam version of kotor 2 with tslrcm 1.8.3 and its at the maximum setting for the native resolution 1024 X 1280. Thanks in advance. edit: On my other monitor it runs at 1600 X 1200 but the problem is still there.

W4rb1rd 5 Posted March 24, 2014 Not a good tip that one from lucasfiles. Not only it makes videos look worse, but the playing video speed increase is minimal. Besides its very time consuming. I had come with that problem before. I might have a better solution. Let's assume you have a K-LITE Codec Pack installed. Anyway its Windows codecs related problem. When you install said pack, system utilizes pack's filters and codecs, and while for many "exotic" video formats it seems a good idea, it also strips games for using their native bink codec (binkw32.dll). My advice would be to "turn off" .bik extension as a recognizable extension in Media Player Classic's->Settings->Formats AND in ffdshow video decoder configuration->Codes find BINK and set Decoder as Disabled. Same goes to LAV Video Decoder->Formats look for bink and de-select it. You can find all those programs under Codec Tweak Tool. After that reboot computer. Check the game. It helped for me. If by any means it didn't for you, well then, just de-install whole Codec Pack and reboot computer again. One of these methods is bound to help you
Malkior 476 Posted March 24, 2014 I have a suspicion I don't know the full scope of the problem, but have you tried using the High Quality Movie Patch? (Apologies if it's an older download link, it was the only one I could find) There should be no problem with up or down-scaling if it's already in a high resolution. R912525 1 Posted March 25, 2014 I dont have the K-LITE Codec Pack so it isnt that. Also I have the game on steam so I must have the High Quality Movie Patch, also I had this problem when I had the cd version as well with the high quality movie patch. edit: I have noticed that if I put the game into windowed mode the problem is gone but the problem is there is no decent window size that fits my screen well for this game. Any thoughts? Because most the videos are only like 8 seconds or so and I keep missing the first 3 or so and for some of the videos I miss the whole thing.
