I have a loading bug :(

instantly once i installed tslrcm

7) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?

every time i create a character i load the game up, it loads to the t3 start prologue, i skip the prologue and then i get a loading screen for the kolto room but before the load finishes, at around 20% save the game just stops responding and then never returns to loading once it starts responding. A strange thing is occasionally ill load into the game. get to play for an hour and never make it past a loading screen. this never happened before instillation.

yes, i loaded a past save and that worked, past as in before the instillation.

Quick question. Did you browse to the folder where Kotor2 is installed, click "properties" and uncheck the "read-only" radio button, and then hit apply?

 

I had similar issues with freezing at loadscreens, but then did that, and it worked properly.

i installed the mod into the game folder and it runs, shows me the loading screen so im pretty sure i installed it into the right area. but i cant find a file called properties?

i use steam so i save it in steamapps/common/kotor2
so the main folder but i search all over and i cant find a folder called properties? :S

Bahaa i just realised lol. its midnight brain wasnt working i unchecked the radio, im now running it to find out will get back soon.

no it hasn't worked. it now takes foreverrrrr to get past the character screen to play with t3 in the prologue but no difference.

ah okay for the compatibablity mods. thank you. and none of the advice i can see or read on this forum appears to be relevant. i dont have much experience but nothing here i found, has been any help. so i did indeed look before complaining.

I was just trying to single out whether it was that problem due to the nature of your description. Sometimes the problem can be bigger, so it's easier to get rid of the obvious. You went out of your way to list your issue in the proper format, so it's clear you did some research.

 

Still, I apologize that the "solution" just made your problem worse..

hahaa thank you for the help regardless, well who knows i ran it twice but it came up kinda ok, the second time but no progress past the t3 screen, what makes this so damn confusing is why like out of the 50 new characters i created about 3-5  worked and i played for an hour or so but on a loading screen it died and then i could never get them to load again just having the same non moving load screen.

Does your loading screen have a load of weirdly colored lines over it?

Nope, it has the game image looking perfectly fine to me, it loads to 50% ish then it stops responding, after awhile it responds again and drains cpu/memory again but the load bar never moves again and occasionally the load bar then resets to about 20% loaded :S

I had that happen when I mis-renamed a texture file in my Overide folder. (used an underscore in the name and a different number)

 

Unfortunately I don't know what I could do to help further, but I hope your computer dilemma gets solved soon.

yea id try that ^^ if i can be incredibly picy, can i have a jedi consular, jesus head, with str 14, dex 12, con 12, int 14. wisdom 16. all points into the 4 yellow skills and then the security feat? ^^

quick question, when installing the restored content mod, do i create a folder? or save everything as it is out of a folder in the main kotor2 folder? i have done the latter, not creating a folder?

No, you select the root KOTOR2 folder, not any other.

yea so like i selected the steamapps/common/knight of the old republic 2

which is the folder for all my files

 

 

quick question, when i click or try to enter my override folder, it says its not accessible, The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable. :S

 

 

okay, the override folder in my kotor2 folder is now broken and is stopping me reinstalling the RCM :s so do i need to reinstall?
