Newbie Question - Compiling .nss to .ncs file

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded a mod with an .nss and .ncs file respectively.  I wanted to alter the mod a bit to my liking.  How do I compile the edited .nss file into a new .ncs file?   I've tried all over.... just not sure where the compiler is.  Any help is appriciated thanks.

The .ncs file was standalone btw.  No additional files needed.  Just a script.

The best way is to just use the KotOR Tool text editor, which doubles as a script compiler. You also need a copy of the game's nwscript in the Override directory in order to compile.

You can find the nwscript.nss file you need with Kotor Tool in "Kotor I / Kotor II -> BIFs -> scripts.bif -> Script, Source -> nwscript.nss"

Make sure you grab the correct one for the game you're editing since they are not the same!
