Help needed! TSL graphics crash...

I recently re-installed TSL on my computer and graphics fails horribly.

I selected new game, but none of the class avatars show up.

 

 

I tried to join the game, but when I entered the prologue, the screen is pitch black, and the only visible things are fire from ebon hawk, sparks from T3 and sparks from the star-map, and of course the cursor.

 

Any idea how to fix this?

 

I tried updating to 1.0b, but it doesn't work.

My first question would be what, if any, head mods do you have installed? A while back I installed a couple of head mods in the same game--not a good idea--and IIRC had a problem similar to this if not this exact issue

I am having this very same problem.

I just recently installed KOTOR2 on my crap desktop after my gaming lappy died.

I thought it was just a fault of my PC, but seems like there's something else wrong with it.

 

I installed KOTOR 2 -- then patched it with the official patch.

Then I installed TSLRCM1.7.

And I added a few mods...

Invisible headgear, a redheaded Exile head, that movement correction mod, aaaaand... Something else, I don't recall off the top of my head. But I only chose mods off the 'confirmed compatible with TSLRCM' list.

This is a common problem with KOTOR for users who have ATI cards. You have a Radeon, right?

 

Just open up swkotor2.ini in your KOTOR 2 directory and find [Graphics Options].

Add "Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1" anywhere under [Graphics Options] and save and close it.

Then load up the game and it should be fine.
