DanGrr Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 When I launch the launcher.exe, then Configure and do a Scan Hardware on the menu, it tells me that my "newer" Radeon X1600 doesn't work with Kotor II. It's nuts I thought to myself, well this might work anyway. I can enter the game, create the character but no model shows up in the character screen. I can create it anyway, but when I go to start a new game, it CTD's to desktop. I googled this issue and couldn't come up with anything. This is just me with the Vanilla game with the 1.a and 1.b patch. Quote
Guest Hib Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I had a Radeon X1650 and Kotor II worked fine although I had to disable Frame Buffer Effects. Have you tried to upgrade the graphics driver to the newest version? Quote
Hassat Hunter Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It does that to card's it can't support. It thinks my GeForce FX9600GT is below recommended system specs and my other PC's Radeon HD6950 is below minimum system specs. That's NOT the issue... You did replace the .dll files with ones from KOTOR1, right? As all "Vista" threads advise? Quote
Guest nephrahim Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I have at times had the EXACT same problem with an X850 card. But you CAN run it. The problem is the drivers, but not how you think. For some reason, something in a new ATI patch has broken things for older games when using older cards. Go download the Omega drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/ (Though they might not be around much longer... looks like the guy who makes them is having some troubles. There might be other custom drivers that work though.) And everything should work fine. Quote
Hassat Hunter Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I didn't even have to use the .dll (or install alternative drivers) to make KOTOR2 work on my HD6950 and windows 7. Had to remove the intro movies of KOTOR1 though or it would fail to launch. Quote

I can now see my male models on the setup screen. Quote
