catagurin 11 Posted March 15, 2011 What does a .mdx file represents?
jjo 2 Posted March 15, 2011 I don't know much about modding, but I know .mdx and .mdl are model files. I've mostly noticed them in lightsaber mods and various appearance mods (if you want to investigate, I remember off the top of my head that there's .md* files in Oldflash's Lightsaber Replacement Hilts and Marius Fett's Cyan Lightsaber Fix; there's also Shem's Invisible Headgear for TSL). Achilles discusses them a little in his Saber Tutorial. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Working Class Hero 12 Posted March 15, 2011 I *think* mdx files contain the binary data that the mdl file references....not sure though. If you want to try understanding them, click this: http://home.comcast....r/mdl_info.html
Guest DeadMan Posted May 25, 2011 AFAIK, *.mdl files contain model geometry and animations, while *.mdx contain texture coordinates.
VarsityPuppet 1,085 Posted May 25, 2011 mdx contain primarily the model vertices for the model, or at least that's what I've found. I think they also include the weights
