Please help, MOD installation problem.

I'm trying to install the KotOR 1 restoration 1.2 mod and every time i download the mod is is made into a "Office xml" file that when clicked does absolutely nothing. I've tried opening the files with other applications and they simply refuse to show themselves to allow me to finish the installation. I really need help figuring this out.

What you download from the site is a .7z file. This needs to be extracted with a program like 7zip or WinRAR. After that, you should be able to run the installer.
