Black Screen Kavar fight

000000 - QUICKSAVE.zipThe entire discussion is black screen, on dialogue visible, then more black screen as he kills you because you can't activate force powers or use flurry with a black screen. 

 

I restarted, restarted the computer, etc. Windows 8.1, Steam, Steam workshop version of TLSRCM. I'm not restarting the game from the beginning, that's 20 hours of ridiculous. Instead I uninstalled the mod, did the fight, reinstalled.

 

Now of course I'm getting other things, like no reaction from HK 47 after three groups of droids killed with him in the party, abrupt conversation endings with HK, and the jedi lady who talks to you after you enter the enclave - no subtitles, and it hung. 

 

So.... yep. Not fun.

Do you have any other mods? For that matter please make sure you've answered all these questions:

 

1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur?
2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? (1.8.4 and 1.2 respectively)
3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, GOG, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version?
4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (4-CD version ONLY)
5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?
6) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.)
7) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?
8) Have you tried re-downloading/re-installing the mod?
9) Have you tried using a different save game?
10) Have you tried starting a new game?
11) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.)
12) Can you confirm that you see the TSLRCM logo on the the main menu screen?

 

The TSLRCM makers will only help you if you have answered these questions.

I answered most of those... fresh install.

uninstalled the lightsaber colors, still a black screen, so that wasn't the problem. Uninstalled TSLRCM, no black screen, so that was the problem.

The beginning loading screen of course has TSLRCM on it. 

 

Never heard of TSLPatcher.

 

I did try a different save, same problem. 

 

Extremely specific about the error: I walked up to the door, switched to cinematic view, saw Talia and Vaklu fighting, Kavar looking injured. Then everything went black and subtitles appeared. Sound worked fine.

TSLPatcher is an install wizard used by a lot of KotOR and KotOR2:TSL mods. It's best selling point is that it can replace files within modules, so it can avoid overwrite folder conflicts. It can do other things as well but you can look up the full details if you want. Given that all your mods are texture mods it's doubtful they would need to use TSLPatcher - in any case you would know if any of your mods used it. The help I can offer ends here unfortunately.
