Crash on startup with TSLRCM installed (Steam)

Recommended Posts

Hello, so Ive decided to do my yearly replay of the Kotor games, and now that Ive gotten around to Kotor 2 of course the first thing I do is go to install this mod. My issue is, as the title says, that with TSLRCM installed my game crashes as soon as I try to launch it from steam, giving me an error message. Now Ive never had this issue before using this mod, so does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Also as the installation instructions for TSLRCM suggested I downloaded the mod off the workshop, could this be the issue? Ive never used the workshop for Kotor before and honestly have never had a problem with this mod or any others when not using the workshop to download them :/.

Oh, and another question that isn't really related but it's something I'm just a little worried about. When I first got done installing the base game I noticed my Override folder already had a bunch of files in it, is this normal? It's been awhile, but I could have sworn the override is usually empty until you actually start downloading mods into it.

Id just really like some confirmation on this so I know whether or not I should delete these files.

Thanks in advance :D.

I don't know the ins and outs of the workshop but I find it easier to avoid it since I hear a lot of problems. Maybe this was just due to it being a new thing, no idea.

The steam version has had an update, it just cleans up the gui and adds support for gamepads I believe. Try running the game with no mods installed to see if its the update which is causing the problem, If the game doesn't work without TSLRCM look here http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/3606-game-not-starting-since-steam-update/

also read through this for future posts it helps narrow down the problem http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/2390-read-me-second-information-for-those-posting-errors-glitches/

If you had TSLRCM installed, re-install TSL (cleaning *everything*) before installing it from the workshop. 2 different TSLRCM installations can lead to many issues, crashing included.

Well I just did a clean install and didn't use the workshop this time, that seemed to fix it. Thank you everyone for the help
