fridgidy 0 Posted November 28, 2015 Hello I need some help. When I try and use kse 3.3.7 it loads up the saves fine but when I click commit changes it gives me an error that it can't open PARTYTABLE.res file for writing. This is the only version of kse that seems to be able to find my save files. Even when I manually input the file folder for the other kse versions it gives me save files that don't exist. But this newer kse I can't commit changes so no better. Please can anyone help?[Mod Note: Please don't double-post. This is per the site rules, Rule 8, section 2.] This is my full error. 11/28/2015--15:41:12= Tk::Error: Could not open C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR/saves\000003 - Game2\PARTYTABLE.res for writing. at Bioware/GFF.pm line 1212. This issue (not being able to write out the files) is due to the files being read-only and the system then preventing you from overwriting the file. fridgidy 0 Posted November 29, 2015 I tried that on all folders related to where the saves folder is still gives same error.
Fair Strides 509 Posted November 29, 2015 I tried that on all folders related to where the saves folder is still gives same error. Did you make sure to check the "Apply settings to all sub-folders, files, .etc" box as well? And could you see if you have a KotoR folder in a folder called "Virtual Folder" in your appdata (probably "local" appdata or "roaming" appdata) and confirm its settings as well?
fridgidy 0 Posted November 29, 2015 I did make sure. I only had a folder called Virtual Store and there is a KotoR in it with read only removed.

fridgidy 0 Posted November 29, 2015 Yea I applied to all subfolders for both KotoR folders.
Fair Strides 509 Posted November 29, 2015 Yea I applied to all subfolders for both KotoR folders. Then the last thing I can recommend for this issue is to run KSE as an Administrator...

jake9876789 0 Posted December 27, 2015 Hey could someone help me also. I have had a couple errors so far but I fixed most of them. The problem I am having now is that I can't see any of my save files in KSE. I have deleted the KSE.ini file and then ran the KPF.exe to export the paths to KSE.ini. The KSE.ini looks like [installed] K1_Installed=1 K2_Installed=0 TJM_Installed=0 [Paths] Steam_Path=e:\steam K1_Path=e:\steam\steamapps\common\swkotor K2_Path=e:\steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II K2_SavePath=e:\steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\saves K2_SavePathCloud=e:\steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II/cloudsaves/82504127 TJM_Path=undef [Options] Use_K2_Cloud=1 The log isn't giving me any errors it makes it seem like it found everything and I should be good, except nothing shows up in the KSE window when I run the program. I have tried clicking to reload the saves and also changing the path(to the same folder) but it doesn't change anything or give me any errors. Could someone please help thanks. The log: 12/27/2015--2:34:15= KSE startup v3.3.7a 12/27/2015--2:34:15= KSE found KotOR1 saves directory in e:\steam\steamapps\common\swkotor 12/27/2015--2:34:15= KSE found KotOR2 Cloud saves directory in e:\steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II/cloudsaves/82504127 I'm trying to access the TSL cloud saves if that makes any difference

Fair Strides 509 Posted December 27, 2015 Do you have any saves in the normal saves folder? There's a bug currently that ignores Cloud Saves if no normal saves are found.

They are on my mac. Should I go ahead and create the save folder and then copy one of them from the other computer? edit: yea it worked thanks for your help. MAStephens 0 Posted December 30, 2015 I made a separate topic about this, but maybe this is the more appropriate place to address general questions related to the KSE tool? Basically, I've been having an issue with some of the features in KSE 3.3.7a. Some features, like 'Attributes' or 'Inventory' seem to work just fine, but some, like 'Feats' or 'Quests' don't show up when the option is expanded. They have worked previously, with the same version of KSE, when I was closer to the beginning of the game, but now that I've progressed a bit, they seem to be gone. I've tried using older saves now, but the same problem seems to persist. I'll leave a screen shot showing what I mean. Any suggestions? Thanks! As you see in the screenshot, the option will expand, but only little, uneditable dashes show up, which is the issue I'm asking about.

Have you tried re-downloading the KSE from here?
MAStephens 0 Posted December 31, 2015 I don't have any mods, and I've tried re-downloading twice to no avail. I even tried downloading a previous version which didn't seem to help it out too much. I'm not sure if it helps, but I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.
Fair Strides 509 Posted December 31, 2015 Okay, have you done anything with the game in-between KSE working and not working?
MAStephens 0 Posted December 31, 2015 I don't believe so. If you mean have I modified any of the files, or anything like that, then no I haven't. I have progressed in the story of the game though. And I should note that it's not as though KSE won't start or anything like that, it's just that certain features (quests, feats, etc.) don't seem to work anymore. Fair Strides 509 Posted December 31, 2015 Which game? Which version? Where is it installed? What exactly is your process when operating KSE?
MAStephens 0 Posted December 31, 2015 KOTOR 1; Version 1.03; it's installed in program files; the process when operating KSE is just clicking on the KSE_337.exe and waiting for it to open, then clicking on the dropbox for the particular save in question

DrXann 2 Posted January 20, 2016 I'm confused how do you edit your saves when they are stored in something called VirtualStore instead of the usual saves folder.I tried moving them over but that doesn't work
Tiffany 0 Posted January 20, 2016 Are you sure it's safe now? It also comes up with a trojan. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/be1f32beb9598c52553d9427fb82ddfc50c83bd7788e738e6d54a8c5c3573f6e/analysis/ SHA256: be1f32beb9598c52553d9427fb82ddfc50c83bd7788e738e6d54a8c5c3573f6e File name: KSE_337(1).7z Detection ratio: 1 / 55 Antivirus Result Update Zillya Trojan.Kryptik.Win32.809758 20160116 So... are you sure that's safe? Because the scan results say it still has a trojan. I get that the hash doesn't match because you only scanned KSE_337.exe and I scanned the entire 7z, so here's a scan of just the KSE_337.exe - https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/5354e6ff05867f49015bc9ad19dd2e5d31390535dd4adf1f41584a0d3a047bda/analysis/ No virus. But it detected a trojan somewhere in the 7z... so it must be something else in there.
