Box 8 Posted November 8, 2013 So I've been making this mod for myself and I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in playing it. It's basically everything you don't want in a mod. It's a game balancing mod that balances by subtraction. All of your favorite ways of breaking the game and getting stupid powerful are cut off. Or at least that's the idea. There are some new feats/features but for the most part, it's the same stuff except weaker. I'm playing the mod right now. I'm actually enjoying it. The problem is right now I'm pretty much the only person who can play it because it has so many bugs and errors and I'm the only one who can tell the difference between intentional changes and things not working correctly. If anyone thought they might be interested in this, I might be willing to clean it up a bit and give it out. I've gone through a few iterations of this mod and I'm guessing it will take a while before everything is perfect the way I want it, but in the meantime if anyone cares I can maybe make some accomodations. Also, if anyone is interested in balancing mods, I'd be willing to hear your thoughts about what you'd want out of a balancing mod and maybe take that into consideration. Hassat Hunter 571 Posted November 8, 2013 Dunno... most people do seem to like overpowered force powers/sabers/other items/insane xp over other mods. Personally still thinking about making a mod that reduces the XP you get on Peragus... simply since you level way too fast early game, and it ruins TSL a bit being 15 earlier than the game intended. Not sure, like you, how big the crowd is that wouldn't mind giving in some of their power for the greater good
Box 8 Posted April 30, 2016 How nostalgic. Turns out I had some good ideas but not everything worked well. Feature creep grew over several years because to really balance this game you have to control all parts of the game: classes, feats, spells, items, enemies, etc. In the end, I realized balance or difficulty wasn't really what I was trying to change. So I'm now tentatively calling this my "Feats, Items, and Spells" mod. It's not done. It's not that far from being testable/usable, at least relative to how much I've already done, but since I started working, I haven't been able to fit modding into my routine. Anyway, the reason I'm bumping this is because now I have a github. https://github.com/Box65535/Box-KOTOR-Mods/tree/master/BoxTSLMod You could take a peek at it, but I would be amazed if you could follow what's going on with it. I made it because version control is nice. And I'm posting this to prove that I have, in fact, been working on a mod. And I also wanted to provide context for when I whine in chat about how this mod is nuts; well now you can see why.
