Confronting Jedi Masters at Dantooine Bug

Mods installed:

TSLRCM 1.8.2 (no M4-78)

High-Level Force Powers v2 (listed here as compatible with TSLRCM)

Sith Assassins with Lightsabers (listed here as compatible with TSLRCM)

HQ Music (installed this before TSLRCM)

HQ Video (installed this before TSLRCM)

 

Problem 1 (game-breaking):

 

I hope someone can help me with this: I'm at Dantooine, confronting the Jedi Masters (dark side). After the cutscene with Kreia, I enter a cutscene with Zez-Kai Ell and Vrook. Vrook recognizes that I am on the dark side and says "I should have stopped you [earlier at Dantooine]". I then have three dialog options: "If this is all that is left of the Jedi order...", "We shall see who dies this day...", and "Then let us end this...".

 

The problem is, no matter which dialog option I choose, the Masters come running at me and then stand still. They aren't hostile -- my cursor is the "talk-to head" that you use when initiating conversations. If I try to talk to them, nothing happens (they only turn to face me). And I can't go anywhere else.

 

I tried reloading from another planet's save, but that didn't solve anything. After a bit more searching, I opened up the 650jedi.dlg file in my override folder and noticed that the conversation options are supposed to call the script "a_jediatk". But I couldn't find this script in either my override folder or in the original game's scripts.bif. So I installed 1.8.2 to an empty folder to see it another mod had overwritten or deleted the file. Same problem -- no a_jediatk.ncs in the folder. I did this with 1.6 as well, with the same results.

 

So is the issue that the script doesn't exist? And if it doesn't, where can I get an existing version of the script so I can complete the cutscene?

 

Problem 2 (small bug or just Kotor acting up):

 

Another question: is there supposed to be another cutscene between Kreia sitting down and your meeting with the Council? The screen does some weird flashing and Kreia's dialogue gets slightly cut off every time I go through that cutscene. Possibly related?

a_jediatk and a_jediatk2 are inside 650DAN.mod, like most TSLRCM files are in .MOD files.

 

You mention 650jedi.dlg is supposed to call a_jediatk. Does it also mention a_jediatk2? If not, there's your issue...

No, it does not call a_jediatk2.

 

I found it odd that I could have a dlg file that didn't call the proper scripts, given that I haven't done KotOR modding for years. So I decided to uninstall using the provided executable, and then reinstalled. Now there is no 650jedi.dlg in my override folder at all! Apparently that file didn't even need to be there.

 

I suspect that the extraneous 650jedi.dlg may have been a remnant from an (unsuccessful) uninstall of a prior TSLRCM version. Unfortunately, the reinstall of TSLRCM has rendered several of my save files unusable, so I will have to make my way back to Dantooine before I can determine if the problem has been solved. I'll update this thread when I get there.

 

EDIT :

 

It looks like the reinstall fixed the problem. Version 1.8.2 of TSLRCM does not place a 650jedi.dlg in the override folder -- that file was a remnant of 1.6 and, once it was removed, the problem was resolved. Thanks again for steering me to the right solution. Now I can finish this really great mod!

Yeah, some changes where made to a_jediatk in 1.8. And the actual turning hostile was turned to a_jediatk2. So if it never got called, they never got hostile.

 

1.8.2 indeed doesn't install it. However M4-78EP does place a 650jedi.dlg in the override. Although you mentioned not using it...
