Guest Lex Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Hey there, I`ve just got a new copy of TSL (last one on the amazon website, or so they say ), and I've tried to install it on my W7 notebook. I succeded. And by "succeded" I mean I can create my character, watch the intro movies and get a CTD as soon as the game itself begins. I then remembered that installation guide on LucasForums. I followed all the instructions, but when it comes to patching the game I don't know exactly what to do. You see, I'm living in Berlin now, but I ordered my TSL copy from the amazon.co.uk website, so I figured I have the UK version (and in the game manual it states "ACTIVISION (UK) Ltd., Parliament House etc" on the last page). I downloaded the UK patch, but when it's at around 80 or 90%, there's an error saying that a certain file wasn't found but a new one was and, since the contents don't match, the patch had to be aborted (or something around these lines, I don't remember exactly). This might be a silly question, but how can I find out which country version my TSL copy is? Or is there a way to extract the files from the patch.exe and put them manually in the TSL folder? Your help is appreciated! Lex (PS: I'm not sure if this topic should go here...) Quote
Guest HaVoKeR Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Damm, windows got you good. Isn't there a generical patch? in the box of your DVD/Cd it should be a description of its origin, if you can't download the patch from the official website, download from another, and also, play with RCM only, if not, its not worth the trouble. ^^ Quote

And I had the brilliant idea to take a close look on the CD, and there it states very clearly "UK". Now I only need the UK version of the SecuROM updated .exe. I sent an email to SecuROM asking for the file, but would anybody happen to have this file? (: And yeah, I've played this game plenty of times, and in my opinion it's totally worth it, even RCM-less. I'm looking forward to VarsityPuppet's Malachor mod and the M4-78EP. (: EDIT: Nevermind that, it seems I don't need the SecuROM updated file to play the game. In fact, it crashes only if I use it. Weird. Edited October 30, 2011 by Lex Quote
Hassat Hunter Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 For UK (and other non-US versions) you need 1.0a first, then 1.0b. Did you do that, or tried applying 1.0b straight away? Quote
Guest Lex Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 At first I tried to install the 1.0b. It didn't work, so i reinstalled TSL, installed 1.0a and then 1.0b. It works perfect now. (: Quote
