Saw it last Monday, and hated it.  I found Luke completely out of character.  You mean to tell me the same guy who saw the good in the second most evil person in the galaxy would contemplate killing the son of his sister and his best friend for even a minute?  Really movie?  Also you're telling me the same Luke that defied Yoda to go save his friends is going to go hide and wait to die really?  There were plenty of other issues with the movie but Luke's out of character behavior was my main issue.

Kyle Katarn can make a choice not to follow Revan at the end of TSL, because who needs Revan when you got Kyle Katarn.

When Kriea gives the implied choice to either save the Exile's friends and be weaker for it or get to her quicker in the Trayus Academy Kyle Katarn can make both choices simultaneously, it also makes him stronger, and he doesn't even have to fight Darth Sion he simply looks at Sion and his will erodes. 

They originally made Kyle Katarn not Revan the protagonist of KotOR 1 but the developers kept running into a bug where Kyle would immediately warp to Darth Malak at the beginning of the game and Bryar Pistol him in the face thus ending the game within the first few seconds.  When Kyle Katarn was asked about the bug Kyle responded "That's no bug.".

It's what we all want, and by now, we know most of the arguments for why it should be.

 

- Rakata Prime is canon

- Malachor is canon

- Revan was nearly included in The Clone Wars tv show

- Revan has a Black figurine, which apparently Black figures are typically only canon characters

- As of Star Wars Rebels last night, The Mandalorian Wars are canon

 

What else is there to come? Any other evidence that people have found?

I think the chances of the KotOR era being canonized are pretty high honestly.  Also I have that Revan Black Series figure it is very nice and I highly recommend it to any KotOR fan.

Kyle Katarn doesn't need the persuade skill to get Major Hurka to take him to Saul Karath he simply looks at her and she does, also she doesn't rat him out to the guards, oh and of course after Kyle kills Saul he charges up her loading ramp.

Kyle Katarn stole the Death Star plans and lived.

I know this isn't the proper Kyle Katarn facts thread for it but to add to that.

The blast that killed Jyn and Cassian wasn't from the Death Star Kyle Katarn was just pissed that Cassian and Jyn tried to take credit for something he did.  Also Cassian had to die anyway because nobody impersonates Kyle Katarn and lives.

Kyle Katarn plays the multiplayer versions of KotOR and TSL. No one wants to play with him though, so he draws random players in. They are never heard from again.

Don't forget that Kyle also has all the restored content from both games including stuff that was cut out of KotOR 1 before they switched engines, and he also has all planets from both games without porting in his multiplayer versions.

Fascinating!  It's always wonderful to see new cut content be discovered.  Unfortunately I'm not good at textures so I can't really help you there but LDR or SithSpecter may be able to help you if you would like to ask them.

Why do I believe Tails?  It's because he knew it was a standalone mod prior to K1R's release and has thus had years to accomplish this amazing feat.

One could easily change difficulty between separate videos, and quite frankly, I'd rather not watch a 10+ hour Youtube video just for proof the difficulty was not changed

I agree with this Twitch streaming is the best option.

Yeah if I am going to congratulate someone I'll need proof that they did it without cheats, or save editors, or lowering the difficulty...

Is there any way to revert the visual effect from the Stealth Field Generator back to the old "invisible" effect?

 

I kind of don't really like the effect that (I assume) K1R changed it to...

K1R did nothing with the stealth effect.  It's your graphics card.  Mine does the same thing.

Impossible Difficulty Restoration.  I had decided to share a bit of K1R while it was in early development in the form of giving people that option.  I wonder who was here long enough to remember it being a separate mod download?

I feel I should mention that I never have believed in a truly final version and that those were ZM90's words...

To be fair there were always thoughts in the back of my mind that it may not be the final version which is why I used the phrase "supposed to" but if any more versions come out we're going to start using a 1.2.X system.

That's great. Then tell me, how much it is still in the game to restore (may be in percentage), and how long it might take?

Everything that can be restored has been restored as far as I remember.  Anything that wasn't restored falls into 1 of 2 categories.

1. Contradicts the plot of the game and thus makes no sense to restore.

or

2. Can't be restored no matter what we do (custom content or no).

Lastly... I have a question in return. What's up with the baby pictures in one of the Tatooine console textures, and is it ever used in the actual game?

Yeah I sent my copy of the file to the recycle bin for a fresh reinstall of K1R but I still had it so I renamed it and placed it in the TSLpatch data.  

Odd thing to note but spliced dialog only seems to work in KotOR 1 if the name is 14 characters or less otherwise the audio just doesn't play.

I would advise everyone hold off on installing 1.2 until I get in touch with Fair Strides. There are apparently two files missing from the installer. I just got finished installing it and apparently NM26ACFIRI0299.mp3 and NM26ACFIRI0299.wav are missing from the installer.

I just uploaded a version that has those so all should be well now.  People are free to download the mod as they please.  It was basically just spliced dialog for Firith Me during the Sunry investigation that will play if you have already beaten the Pazaak Tournament.

I still have the opportunity to do so since I am making multiple save files. I will probably do so as soon as FS let's me know on Skype that he has it finished.

The plan is for K1R 1.2 to be out by the beginning of June.

Keep in mind that is the plan it could still release a little bit after the beginning of June as well.

So June 1st is not a concrete release date but it is the plan.

Hey there everyone, it your favorite Knights of the Old Republic LPer here and I just thought I would say that I too am very much looking forward to the 1.2 version of the mod although it's very possible that the LP will be so close to being finished by the time that 1.2 is released that I might not have a reason to install it this go around. The most current episode is thirty-eight and we have finished the Leviathan and are on Korriban and are running around the shyrack cave. You can check out previous episodes if you want to see the 1.1 version in action though if you are interested.

Honestly I'd love to see your reaction to the Pazaak Tournament but I remember it being broken in 1.1 so somebody will have to do a 1.2 run-through of it probably.

So are the stats going to be reduced to more manageable levels for the separate mod?

It's possible but keep in mind that bringing back Caalin and his friends is very low on the priority list.  Once K1R is super stable which we hope is the case with 1.2 (mainly because it is *SUPPOSED* to be the *FINAL* version) then we'll start thinking about making a separate mod for Caalin to come back in, we'll probably call it the Vulkar Base Improvement Mod or something along those lines.

New Fun Features Include:

*Bugs from 1.1 fixed.

*Vanilla bugs fixed.

*TLK/Typo/Grammar fixes.

*The Iriaz have been somewhat toned down.

*The following content that we have had complaints about will be made optional via the installer.

1. Restored Vulkar Base.

2. Iriaz.

3. Party Members under the Manaan Ocean.

4. Juhani/Jolee Clothing Fix.

In order to make sure certain content does not install it must be unchecked within the installer with the exception of the clothing fix which will be unchecked by default.  The installer will let you have the full K1R experience or let you customize it to your liking by allowing you to remove some of the less liked content.  I discussed this with Fair Strides and we came up with this list.  Only the content that had gotten the complaints as "unnecessary" in the eyes of some have been made optional so think of it as a built in K1R tweak pack .  -ZM90
