I usually love to fill my time driving to/from school and work listening to podcasts. Currently my favorites are Harmontown and Anime World Order, mostly for the comedic value and interesting discussions that take place in both. What do you all enjoy?

Eh, better late than never I suppose. I've been a fan of the Star Wars Universe for basically my entire childhood, but it hasn't been until revisiting some classic games that I loved (aka K1 and TSL) now that I'm old enough to appreciate them that I'm really falling in love with it all again. I've been hanging around here for a little bit already, mainly just trying to get my various problems fixed as I begin to delve into the realm of Kotor modding. Not sure where I wanna go with it all but I feel that learning how to use all the tools available to me is the first step in beginning the creative process. With that said, I'd just like to say how great a community I find this place to be, and I look forward to future interactions with you all.

Problems with audio and lip-syncing (TSL)
xxmistermanxx replied to xxmistermanxx's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
How exactly do I go about acquiring a copy of Miles Sound Studio? Do I just send an email to the email address on the site saying I'd like a copy or is there an easier way? As for the VO_ResRef, .wav, and .lip, all of them are named hottamale01. UPDATE: Found a copy of Miles Sound 7, renamed the wav to an mp3 and compressed it, but now it simply just skips over the dialog. I may have also had a mismatch in names between the lip file and the wav after all, but regardless I'm still pretty stuck on it. Lemme know if I did something wrong in converting that. SECOND UPDATE: Fixed! Problem was solved by opening the original .wav I'd recorded in Audacity and saving it as an .mp3. Thanks a bunch Fair Strides. -
I'm currently trying to make one simple line of dialogue with voice acting and lip-syncing, mostly just for the sake of learning. I've followed the tutorial on how to to do custom lip-syncing, and have no trouble in actually creating the .lip files. The problem I'm having is that no matter what, I can get neither the .wav for the voice clip to play or even get the lip movement for the line to play, and I'm not entirely sure why. The .lip is packed with the .mod I'm using to test it and is named the same as the .wav, so I don't think that's the problem. I believe the issue is with my .wav, but I can't pinpoint it. Placing the .wav in StreamVoice and no subfolders just causes the line of dialogue to skip in game, while placing it in a subfolder (just a custom 999 folder) and adding 999 to the VO_ResRef in the DLGEditor lets the line play, just without sound or lip movement. I'm honestly pretty stuck here, and I was hoping someone could possibly shed some insight on my problem here. Thanks in advance.

Creating merchant in TSL (Need assistance)
xxmistermanxx posted a topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Crossposting from Lucasforums as I believe this is the more livelier of the two. I'm fairly new to the realm of Kotor modding, so I've been starting by doing some basic things and following the tutorials scattered around this forum (as well as Lucasforums). In trying to create a merchant for TSL in a custom module, I can never seem to get the module to load fully, as the progress bar will stop at about a third of the way over. I can't for the life of me figure out why, as everything builds successfully when I build the .mod and I can't seem to identify any individual problems with each of the files. I've attached the files to the post as well. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide. FIXED: I didn't include the module.ifo of the module I was copying, doing that fixed everything. Shouts to LDR for the help. test module kotor2.rar
