  1. Thx for your answer. Changing the ID didn't work. However, after some more trial and error, I got your first solution (using the english dialog.tlk) working. Apparently on Win 7, every time I change something in the folder, I have to disable write protection again. I'm on the droid planet now, so far no crash! Let's hope for the best.
  2. I realize this is an old topic, but my problem is closely related. I've installed version 1.83 a month ago, I think it is the english version on the german installation as I didn't realize there IS a german version, and installed M4-78 per instruction. Tonight I ran into the Korriban problem (before Sion), which I could solve as described in one post with extracting the 702etc.erf and converting it. Now I'm back at the Ebon Hawk and talking to T3 gives me the error message. If I swap out the dialog.tlk to english the game crashes on autosaves (it is a very finicky installation on win7). No other mods installed. Here's the question - can I convert something and if yes, which files would that be?
  3. Game version: Collectors edition, installed once as is and (after deinstalling due to the bug) in XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode. Default directory (Win 7 - progr(x86)\Lucasarts etc TSLRCM v 1.8.3 - Without RCM, no crash. With it, when I talk to T3 via terminal, before switching to T3 and before any loading screen (is there one usually?) the game crashes to the start menu. Tried it in windowed mode, the same. I did a fresh Kotor install, fresh TSLRCM install (shows up correctly in the menu), did not use TSLPatcher, have no other mods installed, tried different savegames, tried 2 different new games, and use no crack. OP: Win 7 64, Intel CPU, GeForce 560.
  4. One 2da coming up. After reinstalling, the new speed doesn't work on the lower Taris level. Upper Taris, Endar Spire works. However, after a few minutes the game will crash to menu during area transition or when I load a game. Which, of course, means that I have now spend more time on those levels than if I had just accepted the "slow" running speed. I think I will give up - I had a hard time getting the game to run on Win 7, and need to use a no-cd crack as recommended on the only install instruction post I found that worked for me, otherwise I can't play at all. Thanks anyway.
  5. Thank you for the quick answer. For reasons I don't understand, deadlystream doesn't let me attach files :/. Yes, I clicked somewhere else, the changes were made. I just now doublechecked (runspeed for PC vanilla is 5.40, I upped it to 7.10). New info/question. Frustrated, I deleted all the files in the override directory (there were more attempts at modding). After that, the game crashed constantly. I installed it again, just put the creaturespeed.2da in (made a clean save first), and now there's a new file - nwscript.nss. What does that one do?
  6. Hi everyone. Completely new to modding KOTOR, started 2 days ago after I got tired of normal running speed on Taris. So I searched, found Kotor Tool, learned how to open and edit creaturespeed and put the new creaturespeed.2da and the creaturespeed.xml (along with featgain and powergain, which I edited as well) into the override directory. I would swear yesterday it worked. But not today. I have by now edited the file several times with different values, and the game ignores it. There is a settings.xml file in the Kotor Tool folder, do I need that (nobody mentioned it anywhere, so I guess not)? What do the xml files do? Anyone have an idea? I'm playing the 4 cd version (Lot's of crashes on Win 7). Thx in advance.
