Old comment, but I have to say it, I'm an expert on the EU, and I have no idea what you mean when you say these have been around in the EU before. They haven't. This here is the closest thing that existed in the EU, and it literally only appears in a couple of panels in a Republic comic issue: http://i.imgur.com/RZXXJkV.jpg The crossguard lightsaber Kylo Ren has, and the ones pictured above were not in the EU, they are totally original creations.

I was always asking myself how capable those Sith-Assassins really were, if they were equipped with anything more than PLAIN STICKS... I currently run another gameof TSL trying Mods and yours just made the Sith able to overrun the mandalorian Base on Dxun without even sweating... your weaponry enables them to do, what, two or three times the usual damage? I couldn't stand a chance... Amazing!!! Maybe I'll try it again with a different party. Nothing against a new challenge. I like the pike design! I was always phantasizing about more Lightsaber subtypes for a Kotor 3 like Tonfas, Whips and so on.. Thanks for the great work
