Crash after Atton - Sion fight

Recommended Posts

As the title says. After I beat Sion (or throw the match), I get this cutscene of Atton either running away or getting free skin treatment. After that, shot of the room and boom - back to main menu. I have only installed one non-texture mod, the invisible headgear mod.

I tried removing all the texture mods + the headgear mod just in case, no effect. I also tried from another savegame, still on Malachor V though. Removed & reinstalled TSLRCM and did local cache check on KOTOR2 from steam.

Just once I saw the autosave kick in but it hung mid-way through.

1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur?

After kicking Sion's behind

2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? (1.8.4 and 1.2 respectively) We only provide assistance for the most current version of those mods.

Yup.

3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, GOG, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version?

Steam

5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?

New installation of Kotor2 & steam workshop TSLRCM 1.8.4

6) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.)

Just the invisible helmet mod from workshop and OTE texture packs

7) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?

No error, just back to main menu, main menu is unresponsive except for ALT-F4

8) Have you tried re-downloading/re-installing the mod?

Yeah
9) Have you tried using a different save game?

Yup
10) Have you tried starting a new game?

No!

This is not likely helpful but I have kotor2 on an external HDD so I tried it on another PC. And it passed this point with no issues. So it could be just about anything that causes/exposes the problem. But it's a bit too much of a coincidence that three guys have exact same problem in the same spot at the end of the game. Fwiw, I now ran it on Win 10 box instead of Win 8.1 laptop but both have nvidia gpu and Intel chipset..

I was also able to play through this evening.

I noticed steam downloading the TSLRC mod again but maybe it was because I was playing on a different computer. I did have the game on an external HDD which should have had the mod already. Perhaps there has been a quick fix?
