"Shadow" setting conflict in Knights of the Old Republic II! A really much help is appreciated !!!!!!!!

I don't know if someone knows about it, but it's quite old problem! The game crashes time after time, as in the example of Prologue, when you're above the Ebon Hawk with two droids and if you approach the Quadlasers! This works and can be bypassed, but without the "shadows" option. Please help, if you know about this problem or present any suggestions. Thanks again, beforehand!
