Welcome back, I do vaguely recall your name from a long time ago.

Can only speak for myself but yes basically I started restoring tsl due to boredom.
I'm reminded of Ghent in the Thrawn books - "oh yeah, that massive security leak you've been struggling with for ages, I hacked that a few days ago 'cause I was bored."

There's an NPC in Javyar's Cantina named Ja'Gatcha. Ja'Gatcha is one of the only two Paaerduags in all of KOTOR (and indeed, in all of Legends continuity.) Strangely enough, however, Ja'Gatcha doesn't do anything but answer some very basic questions about himself, Taris, and his homeworld Sorjus, effectively serving no purpose. Has anyone ever examined this NPC and found if they were supposed to be part of something bigger? They're tucked away in a corner and have always felt odd to me since my first playthrough.
I can't see any comments on purpose or anything unused in any of his files, I could be wrong because it's 2AM and this is the first time I've opened KotOR Tool in at least three years but I think he is just another unfortunate alien trapped by the quarantine, no extra intent to his presence.

I've been away from here a fair while and this was a brilliant read to come back to, seeing all the drama and all those names that I already regarded as old hands of modding when I joined

Only other mods are graphical and i am 100% sure they do not conflict.
You can never be sure of anything in KotOR modding, things always break somewhere, and it may not be immediately obvious why. Best to list them anyway just in case.

I want a TFU3 to see how it's resolved, not only how Vader's freed but how the hell they'll kill off Kota and Starkiller in time for ANH.

"I'd like to say that people people can change anything they want to; and that means everything in the world. Show me any country and there'll be people in it. And it's the people that make the country. People have got to stop pretending they're not on the world. People are running about following their little tracks. I am one of them. But we've all gotta stop just stop following our own little mouse trail. People can do anything; this is something that I'm beginning to learn. People are out there doing bad things to each other; it's because they've been dehumanized. It's time to take that humanity back into the centre of the ring and follow that for a time. Greed... it ain't going anywhere! They should have that on a big billboard across Times Square. Think on that. Without people you're nothing."

Welcome to the forum, and the KotOR community!

This is a problem.
I know, but I've been pressed for hard drive space lately. I've been meaning to reinstall though.

When I was even more "green" than I am now, I always set my attributes up so they were at 0 penalty/bonus, then proceeded to use whatever points were left over to increase my "favored" stats. I'm just about to play again for the first time in a while, so we'll see what happens.
I've always done this, but I haven't played either KotOR in absolutely ages.

I thought it was...alright. I was hoping for better, but I'll spoiler my full thoughts.
I get how it's good to reference the old films, but it was basically the same as the OT, which annoyed me. I was looking forward to a new story in the galaxy far far away, not the old story with some new characters. Plus the one-liners were just too frequent, and I don't really see why the Rebels are losing again when they won the war. Also the new Death Star being ready when the sun goes dark...just no. Stars don't work that way.
I like Rey though. And John Williams did a good job.

WTF Steam?
in TSLRCM
Sorry that the rest of the world wasn't born with all the knowledge of coding like you and to judge from the reply below you, Varsity Puppet as well.
We mere mortals not imbued with your proclivity and genetic knowledge of programmig haven't a clue as to what is hard or easy.
Dude asked you to mod something.
You said it can't be done.
He said damn.
Seemed pretty harmless to me. But hell no, not to you. It's time to go to another forum and make fun of this blight on humanity, this blithering idiot. How DARE he address the great and powerful OZ.
Why be an arrogant dick about it? Is this how you kids roll? I came here because I just found out/ heard about the mod of an OLD game and figured I'd check it out and see what I could learn, well I learned not to ask any questions and that as a mere mortal I do not belong here.
I promise I'll never give any feedback or suggestions or make any requests. I'm too stupid to know what is hard or easy I guess and I don't see a need to be humiliated to feed your over bloated ego for something I have already said I don't know. Hell I'm so stupid I don't see anything wrong with the OP's question.
EDIT: Don't worry, I'll see my self out.
Must've been quite tiring to rant like that, you want some coffee to keep going? I can brought it if you like.
*Talks in moderator voice*
Seriously though, don't come here with an attitude like that. We're perfectly happy to help anyone at all as long as they ask politely.

I really, really hope 1313 comes back. It looked awesome, but EA has that exclusivity contract so I'm not sure if it could really live up to expectation.

This thread should be resurrected, music's always good. Anyway, I'm listening to I've Changed My Address, by The Jam, in particular one from a 1977 Peel Session.

It's difficult to pick one, but I think I'll go with The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

LiliArch is the closest, but not entirely correct.
What's different is that the model has been re-UV mapped to accept the male texture!!
"Why on earth would I do that?" you may ask. Well, I did this as a proof-of-concept to see if I could potentially successfully map all of the female clothing and armor models to their male counterparts. What this would do is allow modders to create new robe and armor textures without having to painstakingly replicate everything across two different textures, one male and one female.
However, before I continue, I wanted to get community input on how useful or handy this would be. There are a number of mods that have male textures only for armor and such. They would now be able to be used by both sexes. The soldier clothing, in my opinion, is the most complicated of all the clothing/armor and I have successfully re-mapped it to my satisfaction. The others should be about the same process. So who all would use this sort of change to be able to more easily make robes or armors for both sexes?
I don't really mod anymore, but when I did it was mostly reskins and yes definitely this would be useful.

I've been reading the Book of Sith, and I've formed a theory that Revan is both the Chosen One and the Sith'ari. To make things easier, I'll just list the evidence for his fulfilment of each prophecy individually:
Evidence for him being the Chosen One:
- The Chosen One is said to be extremely powerful in the Force, which Revan quite clearly is
- The Chosen One is said to bring balance to the Force, and Revan is one of the few completely balanced Force-users in history:
- He's trained with both Jedi and Sith
- He's fought for both Jedi and Sith
- He's fought against both Jedi and Sith
- He's left both Jedi and Sith
- The prophecy also makes reference to a place called Mortis, of "impossible geography" with a "gargantuan monolith" and gods of dark, light and balance, which to me sounds like Malachor V (with the monolith being the Trayus Core) - assuming that Revan is the Chosen One, that makes Malak dark and the Exile light. Alternatively, I have a different interpretation that has the Exile still as light, but Kreia as balance and Sion as dark.
Evidence for Revan being Sith'ari:
- The Sith'ari is free of all restriction, and Revan has no absolute loyalty to anyone save the people of the Galaxy, and acts purely on what he believes is right
- The Sith'ari will lead the Sith and destroy them, both of which he did in the Jedi Civil War
- The Sith'ari will raise the Sith from death and make them stronger than before - Revan ordered the creation of the Mass Shadow Generator, which was responsible for the creation of the Sith Triumvirate, two of which were raised from death, one of which is infinitely powerful.

Bunch of pussies, the Republic!
That's something I think we can all agree on.
-
Except Serroco was glassed due to the Mandalorians feeling insulted, rather than to goad the Republic.
Depends who you ask - Mandalore said it was in response to the dishonourable tactics the Republic used, Cassus Fett said it was to show the Republic we weren't afraid to use extreme force.
-
Genocide is genocide if you want to goad the republic then goad the republic not innocent cathar
I personally agree with you, but Mandalore the Ultimate and Cassus Fett believed that it was the only way to properly get the Republic to fight. That and Serocco.

I have a question when the Darth revan book was being made is it true that the creator for k1 neglected to do any research on the exile? or k2 in general? did bioware have a problem with the direction of k2 ?
Yes, when someone emailed him about the inconsistencies, he admitted that he did minimal background research into the Exile.
-
Revan din't destroy the mandalorian culture.
He just exploited it a lot.
The damn duchess destroyed the whole culture, and should have died at the hands of a true mandalorian. They make it so true mandalorians are the evil characters, no, they just have an warrior culture.
Oya!
I'm iffy on the mandalorians I admire there fortitude ability to fight the jedi and republic without the aid of the force but at times I find there twisted view on life absolutely infuriating, like how they were committing genocide on a slew of species on the outer rim call those that show merry and compassion "weak" and there disregard for the life of others beings but there quest to fight a good fight is understandable as well as there strength...meh there alright I guess and satien had a good mind set but the thing is I hate pacifism
Almost as much as I senseless slaughter, (I'm looking at you darksiders) the mandilorians under the Kenobi's wiafu need to be both peaceful and ready to do battle to the death if to effectively rule and protect her people for me the last straw would've been when the youth of madalore were poisoned...
I'm not sure which of us you're referring to, but I don't see how showing compassion is weak - maybe it's related to Kreia's teachings on Nar Shaddaa, but I don't recall any notable Mandalorian leaders saying such. And the genocides in the early days of the war (which I was always against) were meant to goad the Republic, to draw them out into a full war, to show them what would happen if they didn't protect their people.
For the record, Satine Kryze is an absolute hu'tuun who doesn't deserve the validation of being called cuy'val dar.

Could be worse, could be much better. And that lightsaber looks completely impractical.
X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and Rebellion upgrades?
in Other Games
Posted
I've just installed X-Wing Alliance, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and Rebellion from the Humble Trove, and I'm currently downloading X-Wing Alliance Upgrade, which I've heard is a highly recommended graphical redux. I was wondering if anyone knew of any similar such recommended mods for the other two games?
