Did you get this working Skeet?
If you right click on your desktop and select display settings.
Then display adapter properties
If you click the monitor tab, does it have the option to select 60Hz?

Thanks DarthParametric. An alternative thing to try might be adding this to the texture's TXI:
clamp 1
Without ndix UR's lines of course. This is very good too.
It doesn't remove the line quite as completely as ndix UR's method, but it doesn't have any visible side effects.
I'll keep this one in and see how it goes.
-
Try adding both these lines to your TXI file:
mipmap 0
downsamplemax 0
Thanks, I'm going to stick with this!
It certainly removes the line.
I'd never seen Mission in the level up screen without the line before.
The over aliasizing is a fair trade off for me.

When I said TPA, I meant TPC sorry, as in adding it to try and fix the default Mission.@ olnorton: is your new texture the same resolution as the old one, and if not, what is it?
But the TXI file is still in there and it hasn't help my re-textured 1024x1024 Mission.
The poor girl has taken to keeping her head bowed, you know how teenagers are with anything on their faces.
ndix UR, That is a noticeable difference, do you have an AMD graphics card?
-
I added a TXI file to make it use the CM_SpecMap with the stock Mission TPA but it made no difference.
Is there a particular SpecMap to use?

Can someone with the black line issue incrementally try these textures with the vanilla head model and report back what happens:
There is no apparent difference between the 4 resolutions, in that they all have a very prominent black line.
-
If you are willing to test this out, I'd be interested to know if it makes any difference in a situation where you are getting the black line with the vanilla model.
https://www.darthparametric.com/files/kotor/k1/[K1]_Mission_Remapped_Head_Custom_UVs_Test.7z
That seems to have completely removed the line, no matter where we go, even in the levelup screen.
I'll keep it in a bit longer tomorrow to make sure, but it looks like you got around it.

Thanks all for your input.
Well I reinstalled the game, no overrides or mods.
Set in game settings to high except default 800 x 600 resolution.
I did a clean install of the 385.28 WHQL drivers (all default settings)
Mission still has a noticable black line.
In the Nvidia Control Panel, I usually just set the "Use my preference emphasising: Quality"
"Perform scaling on: GPU", "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" and leave the rest alone.
I set the Global Settings "Anisotropic filtering 16x" , " Antialiasing - Mode Override any application settings" and "Antialiasing - Setting 8x" but it made no difference.
So I'll stick the mods back, try and forget about it, get back to retexturing everything, and maybe playing the game too.
EDIT:
Well it is definitely effected by resolution.
I just changed to 1600x1200 with everything stock and the line is gone. (well at least in this lighting where it has previously been there.)
-
There's no issue with Mission readily apparent for me when loading that save.
The drivers you are running are 385.28 WHQL? I'm still on 384.76 WHQL myself.
No, I'm still on 384.74 WHQL as well.
I just tried it with Lucy's setup (her kotor.exe and ini files and the 1080p ui files)
It's still there on Mission, and it is even on Bastila on the levelup screen.
If I move the camera a bit, the line disappears, but then my PC looks too much like Prince from this angle.
-
Yes, only the textures. If you have a save where it occurs, that would be useful.
Your retexture only changes the texture itself, not the model I assume?
But I don't think the problem is in the save, because it was like that in my previous game with a different character.
Thanks Lucy, other than the resolution, your ini looks pretty much the same as mine. There's a link to my set up, I haven't noticed the seams in a while so I think I must be doing something right.
I didn't like 1080p when I tried it because the UI got a bit small for my liking.
-
Not seeing it myself on a 1080 running at 1080p via UniWS. Any specific locations where it occurs, or everywhere outside of dialogue?
Not everywhere, mostly in brightly lit areas.
Sometimes she will just stand in one spot, moving her head a little and it will come and go as she moves
-
It's just the seam line in character model, Atton Rand has a prominent one I've found. Not nearly as bad as it's appearing on Mission for you though.
Thanks for the input, I wonder if the uniws mod and running @ 1440x900 is making it worse.
When I finish this playthrough, I'll reinstall the game and try it with the default aspect ratio.
-
Could be related to the GPU I guess. Not an integrated GPU by any chance is it? A laptop?
No, GTX1080 desktop, current Win10 drivers.
If no-one else is getting it, I might try reinstalling the game.
Edit: I tried setting the game to maximum performance in the Nvidia Control Panel in case it was using the integrated gpu chip, but it made no difference.
I just noticed Carth has a bit of it too, but it's not so noticeable .

A poor job on the part of whoever did the retexture, presumably.
Well I did the retexture, so I can't rule that out, but it doesn't show when the texture is in model viewer, or in close up scenes.
If it was a fault in the retexture wouldn't it always be there?
EDIT:
I switched back to the default texture but the line is still there.

Anyone know what causes this black line in the middle of the face? (seen here on Mission.)
It doesn't show in any of the closeup talking scenes.
I think it is shadow related.
It's making Mission go cross-eyed just looking at it.
-
Yeah, Thanks LDR, I had a good look through the 2DA's and could see nothing that showed the order in with they are prioritized.
I'm thinking it must be hard coded.

In KOTOR is there any way to change the power that defaults to the top?
I'd like knight speed or master speed to always be the default option instead of cure or heal.
At the moment I do it by just not giving myself any powers above the speed ones, or any feats above flurry.
But is there something I can edit to change the default order, or a mod that lets me assign a keyboard hot key to master speed?
-
You may be able to get it to work if you hit continue then close the GFF window (not the Kotortool one) and reopen it after a few seconds. It may have to do with Kotortool not closing the process quickly enough and thus interrupting it, but I can't really speculate with any certainty as I have no actual firsthand knowledge of how Kotortool works.
Try running Kotor tool in Administrator Mode (I really hope that's what it's called)
The combination of running as administrator, and waiting a little between closing one uti file and opening another has made it better.
Thank you both.
-
I can only use the GFF editor in Kotor Tool once and then I have to shut Kotor Tool down and restart it to look at another .uti.
Is this normal, or is there a work around?

Just starting my 2nd playthrough of Kotor.
I used Leilukin's mod in Kotor 2 and I noticed it was her birthday, so I signed up to say happy birthday Leilukin.
Black Line in middle of face.

I haven't played Kotor for a while , so I only just saw this now.
I tried it and it completely removed the line from Mission's face.
