After Googling around a lot, I found someone mentioning this being related to running SL inside Parallels. So I rebooted to native Windows 7, and that solved it.

• As soon as I get within a few meters of the door to the audience chamber, the game freezes.

Edit 1: I've tried reinstalling SL + TSLRCM without M4-78, but I still get the same crash

Edit 2: I found a rather strange workaround here. If I switched Mira to solo mode and went to the door alone (without Kreia, which was my other chosen character), I could open it and reunite with my main character without the crash.

But then the crash just happens afterwards

Edit 3: I've tried another party (replacing Kreia with Visas) but that does not help either.
