NeoDio 10 Posted January 10, 2011 Hello, I'm a new member here, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section. I just made this .rar for a friend of mine that owns a legal copy of KOTOR2 but can't get it to work on Windows7 http://www.filefront.com/17773368/KOTOR2-files.rar/ It contains: 1st patch - KotOR2_Patch_v201420_UK 2nd patch - sw_pc_uk_from201420_to211427 The brilliant TSLRCM1.7 KOTOR1 binkw32.dll KOTOR1 Mss32.dll A neoreadme.txt with instructions. And the "crack" for the patched version. Please note that I only included the crack for people who cannot play the game with the original disc, I legally own a copy of KOTOR2 and I can give proof if necessary, I do not endorse piracy. If you want me to remove the crack please contact me and I will do so immediately, but I repeat, I only included it for people who own a legitimate copy of KOTOR2 and for some reason cannot play the game with the original CD/DVD I hope this can help some people. Thanks.
Guest staticjoe66 Posted January 10, 2011 Given the fact Vista and W7 share the same file system--NTFS ver 6, W7 simply being an updated kernel among other "enhancements"--I will go out on a limb and say what works on Vista should also, theoretically, work with W7...theoretically... OTOH, we need to keep in mind KOTOR I had/has video issues galore--on my XP x86 box running an AGP 7800GS vid card with the 94.24 drivers installed and no RivaTuner, usually I can play the game for maybe 2 hours tops before the display starts to wig out and I have to reboot. I've found TSL to be rather forgiving when it comes to the vid card/driver combo but since I'm now running W7 on both my boxes I'm quite curious to see whomever else may be running the games on W7 and his/her experiences... ph34rl355 10 Posted January 10, 2011 I actually have it running on my W7 box. I found that using the Vista fix, installing Bink's player to help with movies, and running it windowed makes it run flawlessly. Also, here is my .ini just in case you want to give it a try. NeoDio 10 Posted February 5, 2011 Agreed ph34rl355--I gave TSL a whirl on W7 last night myself and the Vista fix seemed to work just fine, though I didn't install Bink player Funny there's one solution that works with Star Wars LucasArt games...I've been playing SW:Battlefront 1 and 2 and they both stall at loadings, when I start the game, when I choose a mission, before the mission starts, when the mission ends, before a video...The solution is always alt tabbing, pressing ALT + TAB, going back to the desktop and then going back into the game. Thus, to play a Battlefront mission I need to go desktop - game, game - desktop three times, lol. Also works with both KOTOR's, even with the fixes above, if you're stalled when flying to a planet or before a movie, just ALT + TAB the game, go to your desktop, then go back into the game and the movie plays normally. Hope this is usefull also, at least got me playing KOTOR's and Battlefront's on Vista, and with great quality and no crashing problems
