File Name: TSLRCM Dialog Overhaul

File Submitter: KUyTh

File Submitted: 20 Feb 2018

File Category: Mods

TSLRCM Compatible: Yes

Description:

This modification strives to correct the most noticeable errors and inconsistencies found in the dialog.tlk file of
The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (TSLRCM).

The majority of alterations are based on modern corpora, mainly affecting written speech as well as menu screens in the game,
without changing their original meanings.
Some lines underwent slightly advanced changes in order to be in line with their corresponding voice-over references
while some others were changed to further add context to specific situations (Example: Lasavvou will now mention his name during conversation).

As this modification was originally meant for personal use only, you will also find some of my early attempts at revamping
the punctuation of multiple dialog lines to create a more coherent reading experience in accordance to the sound references.
That includes the removal of hesitations and interruptions that are not reflected in speech.

For full details on the changes, please refer to the included "Changes.txt" file.

Due to the sheer size of the dialogue script, there is a strong possibility that errors have been overlooked in the editing process.
Feel free to report "overcorrection" as well, as the changes made with this modification are highly subjective.
Feedback is always dearly appreciated (on Deadly Stream via private message or comment on the mod's support page).

Installation:

TSLRCM 1.8.5 is required.

Replace the dialog.tlk file located in your game's main directory with the one from the "overhaul" folder in order to apply the modification.
Certain changes may only occur upon starting a new game.

In case you may want to revert the changes, just copy the included original TSLRCM dialog.tlk into the game directory.

Hmmm, what "errors"?

For the most part, minor yet easily missable errors that were already present in KotOR II's original dialog.tlk.

"Araknians", "Mandlaorian", "companioin", "Marko Ragnos", "pinicle" and "vaccuum" are just a small selection of mistakes I managed to find and correct.

I'm planning on including a more detailed outline of the changes in future updates.

If we find any errors can we let you know?

And to quote you from a previous post, how do you back up the original .tlk file?

Or now that I think about it, should we just let the TSLRCM crew know about any additional errors?

Thanks. I've fixed them in our dialog.tlk incase there ever will be an update, those are gone.

should we just let the TSLRCM crew know about any additional errors?

Feel free to do so, but again, I can't guarantee we'll actually do another update.

Suggestion:

Jedi Guardian Prerequisite should be removed from the description of lightsaber Focus as it no longer applies.

Suggestions are always appreciated. You can send me a private message with the lines in question, either transcribed or screenshot.

Since I imagine that not everyone backs their original files up during overwriting, I will also include the original TSLRCM dialog.tlk in upcoming updates.

I didn't intent on correcting description oversights that directly affect gameplay elements, but your suggestion is noted. I might extend my corrections to those inconsistencies sometime in the future.

So will this mod correct flaws in journal entries, and feat/item descriptions in the future?

Possibly, yes. Once the most glaring errors are out of the way, I might as well start correcting those as well.

Such as?

I remember seeing a Steam screenshot of one of the Onderon civil war journal entries that had one such error. In this case, the phrase 'throne room' was spelled as 'thrown room'. Granted, this was probably half a year ago.

103381 :

The outer thrown room door has been opened. You must hurry to the throne room to save Queen Talia, before it's too late.

And... fixed. Thanks. You guys better not make me release an update or anything.

Jedi Guardian Prerequisite should be removed from the description of lightsaber Focus as it no longer applies.

I'll look at that.

Also see Force Camouflage is Universal in default, and the advanced are Dark Side somehow. Also only the first mentions Kreia all others just the classes. Need to check ingame what's exactly up with them though.

Not to nitpick too much but shouldn't discussions of changes to TSLRCM be discussed in the TSLRCM section, and not in this mod's discussion area?

I'm using TSLRCM and the description lists all Jedi classes as a prerequisite.

Weapon Specialization: Lightsaber can be unlocked by a Jedi Guardian as well as ANY of the prestige classes despite its description stating otherwise so I think that needs a correction.

Is there going to be a full changelog released, or will that be too lengthy of a list to be published?

I second this correction. I was so confused because I got this feat after sparring with Visas as a Consular/Jedi Master mutliclass.

It's a fairly long list, so I decided to include it as a txt file in the latest version.
