  2. View File K1 Ported Alien VO Replacements This mod replaces the voice overs used for Nikto, Aqualish, Gran, and Quarren NPCs in KOTOR. In KOTOR I, Nikto, Aqualish, Gran, and Quarren NPCs use VOs that are meant for and shared by several other species. KOTOR II fixes this by adding VOs specific to these four species, so I figured hey, why not incorporate them back into the original game? The intention of this mod is to provide a stronger sense of immersion and consistency between the two games, while keeping the affected dialogue true to its intended "feel." A bonus side effect is that the aggressive Nikto VOs make the Black Vulkars seem like an actual threat instead of comic relief. I've included compatibility patches for the KOTOR 1 Community Patch (Queedle Fix), K1 NPC Overhaul, and KOTOR 1 Restoration. Installation & Uninstallation To install this mod, run Installer.exe and select the first option to install the main mod. Then, run the installer again for any of the compatibility patches you may need. It doesn't matter which order you install compatibility patches in. You must have installed the other mods beforehand. To uninstall this mod, delete the files from your game's modules, override, and streamwaves folders (I've included a list of them in the readme.txt). If necessary, restore files from "backup" into your game's directory. Compatibility Compatibility patches have been added for the mods already mentioned due to their common usage. The K1 Restoration Mod has a Nikto NPC in the Vulkar Base sublevel with Basic (English) VOs. I decided to leave this unaltered as to not interfere with the restored content. Known Issues Some of the Nikto VOs don't have perfectly matching mouth animations, which is because KOTOR II has some missing .LIP files. The placeholders I'm using are as close as I could find. These may be replaced in a later version. Redros's mouth doesn't move for a couple of lines of dialogue. This bug happens regardless of this mod and only if his appearance is Nikto, so I felt it's a bug beyond this mod's scope. Please let me know of any other issues you find, or if you come across anything I missed! Credits Fred Tetra, Kotor Tool Fair Strides, KotOR Toolset tk102, DLG Editor & K-GFF Editor JCarter426, SithCodec Thanks to the KOTOR community for keeping these games alive. Disclaimer This mod is not supported by LucasArts, BioWare, or Obsidian Entertainment. It is for personal usage only and intends no copyright infringement. As this mod ports files from KOTOR II to KOTOR I, it's intended for players who already own both games. I do not claim ownership of these ported files. Contact me on DeadlyStream or via Discord (listed on my DS profile) if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or the like. If you want to use this mod as a part of an external work, you must recieve my permission. This mod should only be found on Deadly Stream, no user may upload it to another modding site. If you just want to use the included WAV or LIP files, you're better off extracting them yourself. Not only are they not my property, some of them are renamed duplicates or have been modified otherwise. Submitter Ashton Scorpius Submitted 01/04/2019 Category Mods K1R Compatible Yes
  3. I AM REACHING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY Concerns & Worries I have been notified no matter what happens, once I release the first version of my mod, it will be the same as releasing the modders resource which means I will just be releasing them as one and the same. V 0_2_5 is ready and I will upload them when ready. Though for the moment in both games the areas can only be warped to. I am not sure when I will be releasing it as I have thoughts about the future of both KotORs that may be compromised if anyone else goes crazy making content with the resources. My worries are that loads of different people will make loads of different universes for both games, which though a great thing is conflicting for the overall experience of the game unless they are used in total modifications, therefore I believe my best plan of action is to set up a website for The Expanded Galaxy project which will focus around getting the entire community to contribute to the project enhancing and adding to the overall KotOR experience as well as if possible adding an online feature for both. In order to prevent too many different universes popping up over the next few years that will rapidly change the KotOR 1 & 2 games for the better or for the worse. Thank you for reading and I really look forward to releasing after setting up a website, once I have a website I will reach out to the community with all of my ideas for both games as well as for people to help and get involved with every aspect of the mod. ModDB Page : https://www.moddb.com/mods/kotor-ii-tsl-expanded-galaxy Videos : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhYlUImv8iE&list=PLcla5UjpqtcwxNVK0DcHEwDry1ya9QWYa Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords : Expanded Galaxy Project Over all both releases contain everything necessary for KotOR and KotOR 2 in order to add every planet / missing module to each game and vice versa as well as an overall questline during the game for each area as well as an expansion to both games, currently every module can only be warped to with the cheats enabled in the swkotor.ini files for both games. Revans Eternal Empire - K2 Map Source for K1 ( 900mb ) 2.13 uncompressed This mod will add both a light side and dark side expansion for Revan, addingmore planets throughout the main storyline with short questlines, once finishing the game the player will have the ability to conquer the universe to the extent that prequels SWTOR. Exiles Expanded Galaxy - K1 Map Source for K2 ( 700mb ) 2.02 uncompressed This mod will add a continuation of the second game, with all the ability to travel to all the new planets during the focus of the main game with some missions as well as an overall end game addition which will add a new story focused around the Taris Restoration Project and the Exiles influence in founding it or informing the sith as well as a new galaxy crawl where the player will need to go to every planet once more and follow a trail of information to help or devastate Taris.
  4. Greetings, fellow Jedi! Happy New Year, and hope y'all having a good time. I need an assistance to solve this problem I'm having with newly added items to the game. In my current playthrough I'm looking to have inyriforge's "The Real Vibroblade" installed. But instead of replacing the Vibroblades model and 2DA row like her default mod did; I intent to add a new row to the baseitems.2da, so the original model still available in the game and at the same time adds a new weapon to choose for. So far in my attempt, the weapon is functioning nicely and works as intended as seen below in the screenshot: But yes, the icon wasn't showed properly- and that's what I'm about to ask. Below is a glimpse of view to the item's setup inside the baseitems.2da and on its UTI: I have tried with changing the 'defaulticon' value to almost anything but still the icon wasn't showed so, I think I'm stuck and is looking forwards to any constructive feedback I could have here. I hope the information provided is enough for a troubleshooting, and many thanks for considering this! Edit: For additional information; the icon texture is labeled as iw_Vbldeshort_xxx, and they're in DDS format.
  5. Does anyone have (or have any interest in making) a saber blade/color mod that makes the blade colors of Lightsabers more closely resemble how they appear in SWTOR? Preferably for TSL, but perhaps for both games if possible. In my opinion, Marius Fett's mod from 6 years ago ( ) is still the best looking color-wise that I can find, and has been in my override since then. But it's been 6 years, and I'm looking for something new to keep my play throughs fresh.
  6. View File [K1] Janice Nall "Legends" and the Incomplete Droids This mod overhauls the appearance of Janice Nall and her Incomplete Droids in her store. # Background # I was in a playthrough and looking to overhauls things that're necessary; this is one of them. # About this Mod # This modification makes Janice Nall more like an expert droid technician; with those flashy looks of hi-tech armor she's wearing and her Incomplete Droids will looked like they're meant to be; an unfinished paint jobs with missing parts in their anatomy. Updated in v1.1.0: Adds an additional texture option for Incomplete Droid; which texture now immensely have the look of C8-42-GE3 [Elise Montagne's personal-assistant droid] with unfinished paint jobs. Updated in v1.1.1: An additional installation targeted to earlier version user; which is a fix for Janice Nall's model provided by @DarthParametric [Female Armour Collar Fix]. # Final Remarks # I have plan to change T3-H8 appearance to something more unique in the future update; to make it different from common utility droids spreads around the game. We'll see. 🤞 Critiques, comments, suggestions, questions and any feedbacks for the next update are very much appreciated- just PM me, write them on my feed or leave any on the mod's page as you please. And thank you! for downloading, and playing this mod. Hope you enjoy the mod as much as I do! Installation: Run the installer [TSLPatcher.exe] To install Incomplete Droids' alternative texture; simply run its option, or you could also drop the included file to the 'Override' folder. Overwrite when prompted Uninstallation: Replace the installed files with what is stored inside the generated 'Backup' folder. Particularly the tar_m02ab.mod, put back the file to the 'modules' folder; overwrite when prompted. Compatibility: This mod works either with vanilla or modded state of the game. Will be compatible with Kainzorus Prime's "[KotOR] NPC Overhaul Mod"- make sure to install this mod after the said mod has. Will not be compatible with any mods that overrides the tar02_brokedroid.utc and tar02_janice021.utc or anything that force-overrides the contents of tar_m02ab.mod. For this mod to be effective you should at least load a saved game before entering the Upper City North [tar_m02ab] module Redistribution: You can redistribute this mod or re-release it to any website as long it fits their policies; just don't claim it as your own. And be advised that I will not provide support to any technical problems there. If you are to re-use the assets to a mod you will be releasing, you don't have to ask for permission- but your generosity is very much welcome. Also, make sure to give credits to SpaceAlex, DarthParametric, BioWare & LucasArts with the release; as inside this mod are theirs. An appreciation to yours truly is also a warm welcome, welcome. 7. This was something that popped up in the Pazaak Posting group on Facebook the other day. Theoretically, can locations from Kotor 1 (say Marka Ragnos' and Tulak Horde's tombs as was the example there) be ported over and played in Kotor 2?

    6 Player Heads

    Version 1.0.0

Description This mod adds 6 new heads to the game - five male, and one female. The five male heads are based on Carth, Trask, Shaardan, and Gadon Thek from KotOR I, and Dhagon Ghent in KotOR II. The female head is based on the Peragus Medical Officer. Each head comes with its own set of Dark Side transitions. This mod was inspired by the 8 New Male Player Characters mod, released by The Ossus Keeper in 2005. The mod makes use of TSLPatcher, for easier installation and compatibility. Installation Double click on "Install 6 Player Heads for KotOR 2", and hit the "install mod" button. Known Bugs Known Bugs ---------- - The Peragus Medical Officer head sometimes shows a line down the middle of the forehead. This is a defect in the model, which is not fixed. - The skin-tone of the Peragus Medical Officer head does not match the black female underwear skin. - The Gadon Thek head looks a bit disproportionate on some models. 😕 - The portraits don't look the same or as good as the vanilla game ones. 😕 - This mod was made using the 4CD version of the game, and textures may not look so good in the hi-res, Aspyr re-release.

  10. View File Canderous' helmet-filtered voice This mod was made to increase the immersion for those who like me, love to play with Canderous in full Mandalorian armor. It applies radio effect on Canderous' voice. Completed lines: Taris ✓ Canderous conversation (stories, etc.) ✓ Carth and Bastila banter ✓ Jagi quest line ✓ Leviathan ✓ Multiple random reactions ✓ Soundset ✓ I've done my best to locate most of the dialogs, but some of the files are a real pain to find. If you happen to stumble upon missing soundfile let me know. It would be extremely helpful if you told me which module it happend and which NPC started the conversation (or you starded with). THIS IS NOT A CLOTHING/ARMOR MOD, IT CONTAINS MODIFIED AUDIO FILES ONLY! IT REQUIRES ANOTHER MOD TO LOOK PROPERLY FE: "Mandalorian Ultimate Mod"! Have fun! 12. Greetings, fellow Jedi! Hope y'all doing fine. I am here to ask for an assistance about: Is there any chance for custom music to be played at an exact cutscene in game? Edit: Not only cutscene to be exact; it will play along with the particular encounter and will stop soon as the encounter is done. And if it's possible; would ones mind explaining on how doing it? For an example; the tag of the music that would be playing is: mus_theme_legends Many thanks for considering this; and may the Force be with you!

    Kotor Apeiron

Hello, everyone. Welcome to Deadlystream. The past few months have been eventful. The one topic that has out-shined all the others is a little project called “Apeiron” (A Greek word for "unlimited," or "infinite"). This controversial project will be the main topic of today’s post. So YES, I have heard about it. You can stop telling me about it now. As always, leave a comment to let me know what you think of this. What is Apeiron? To start off with we need to explain exactly WHAT Kotor: Apeiron actually is. Kotor Apeiron describes itself as a “Kotor Reboot”. The description on the site also uses the words “remake” and “remaster”. Put simply, this intrepid group of developers known as “Poem Studios” are planning to remake the original Knights of the Old Republic from the ground up. In this case the plan is to develop the game in a fully modern game engine, with HD graphics, updated gameplay and much, much more. Using the Unreal Engine (Think of games like Arkham City and Bioshock Infinite) the team will need to rebuild every planet, weapon, character and… well everything. Needless to say, this is most certainly a massive undertaking that is likely an order of magnitude above even TSLRCM. Sounds great! A brand new Kotor remake all for free! Well, not really. I know there are a lot of people who are very excited about this project but it important to realize that there are some very obvious problems with this remake. What are the problems with Apeiron? The problems with Apeiron that I am going to discuss come in 3 main categories. Scope Direction Legality Scope This is the biggest problem with all fan project s (and modding projects) the developers bite off far more than they can chew, over-promise and under deliver. Projects like this rarely pan out; they often require years and years of work to get right and even then can often have many limitations and problems. A clear example of this is the many attempts to restore content to KOTOR 2. While we now have TSLRCM there were several failed attempts before this to create a mod that restored many of the lost files from the game. These projects were big, but not nearly as massive as recreating an entire game in a new engine. A project this big will take a long time and a lot of people. This all costs money. Since the developers cannot take donations for this project. Having, ostensibly, a full time job while also developing an entire game with a limited team can lead to burnout. Direction Even if this project somehow manages to keep on track with its massive scale and delivers what it has promised this might not be enough. One of the main complaints from the many veterans of the Kotor community (the people STILL playing or STILL modding to this day) is that the project looks nothing like Kotor. I would have to agree with this, it looks like a Sci-Fi FPS and not the RPG that many people fell in love with. There have been concerns as to how the combat (particularly the melee combat) would transfer over to a new engine. One also needs to look at the models used in the current demos. Many of them look like pre-made models (that may not be used with the proper permissions). Overall, this won’t be a problem for everyone, but if you want to see more issues people have with the direction, then just take a look at THIS THREAD. Legal issues This is the big one. The law is complicated. So I did a lot of research and talked to a few experts to see just where exactly this project falls in terms of legality. I emailed Ryan Morris (the video game attorney), known for his crusade against Candy Crush creators King and its attempts to crackdown on usage of the word ‘Candy’ in video game titles & for leading the charge against the Fine Brothers attempts to trademark the word "React". He is a real attorney who specializes in IP and in particular video games (esports). He was kind enough to confirm some previous research I had compiled together and gave me a straight answer on the exact nature of this project , in terms of the law. He had this to say on the topic: “Fan projects are not "okay" or "absolutely" legal. They are quite the opposite, and there's a near zero percent chance this project sees the light of day. It's frustrating seeing people like this saying they want to take donations, yet basing their entire backing on nonsensical legal beliefs. For example, Black Mesa Source is a game made by a client of mine who has a license to make it.” Ryan put it in fairly plain words that he thinks this project will be taken down, and soon. The contrasts sharply with the initial disclaimer for the project that stated it was 100% legal. The developers of Apeiron are at the very least ignorant of how the law works. This lack of understanding is the biggest threat to this project. To put it frankly- this project is not legal. The developers are violating the Trademarks for Star Wars and Knights of the Old Republic. They are also violating the copyright for the game. Disney/EA has every single legal right to take the game down. While Ryan is an expert I felt he was being mildly disingenuous with his criticisms. While it is true that Black Mesa was done with permission, this permission was gotten AFTER the project had started. This is something that is technically still possible, but I still think the project will be taken down. Still not convinced the project will be taken down? This isn’t even the first time something like this has happened. A few years back there was a project called Kotor: Remastered. It originally was a retexture/remodeling project that morphed over time into an attempt to port Kotor over to the Unity Engine. Unsurprisingly, the project was given a takedown notice and ceased production. So there is very good evidence that this project will be taken down. In fact many people, Ryan Morris included, seem to think that a takedown is INEVITABLE. But it gets even more complicated than that. While the law is clear on this project, until the rights holders (Disney/EA/Lucasarts) actually issue a takedown notice this project will continue. There is also a (slim) possibility that the developers will get permission to release their project (with some specific restrictions). Overall I could talk about this for several more pages. I have already written and rewritten this section at least ten times, so I will leave it at that. Here is some further reading on the legality of fan projects if you are still unsure of my analysis. Legal FAQ Research Article Other things of note This topic took a lot of time to research and write. I actually had an article 2-3 times longer but cut it down so that people would bother reading it. Due to all the writing I had less time to round up links for you to enjoy but here are a few great ones. The Kotor subreddit is creating a compendium of fixes, tips, suggestions and general support questions. If you want to help with this or NEED help, check it out. 20. Anyone on here tried the iPad, iPod and iPhone version of KotOR? I think it's really good quality sound and video and it's even wide screen! The controls are really well set out and it's really easy to select chat options! Anyone else play it? I have added a couple photos! Thanks for reading this and I am looking forward to talking to people about this!
  21. Greetings, fellow Jedi! Hope you are doing fine. I am here to request for your help with inverting the panels particularly inside the m01aa_10 and m01aa_09 model: These panels noticeably looks inverted when using Dak Drexl's "Dak's Endar Spire Retexture". The inverted panels meshes is LHR_wall02. I believe they are still noticeable with the vanilla texture installed only by look at them closely, but by using Dak's texture the transition was quite significant. I have tried myself to "rotate" the panels but ends-up rotating the whole room. Many thanks for considering this, and may the Force be with you!
  22. Many thanks to: This instructive topic Fred Tetra's "KotORTool" bead-v's "MDLedit" Chuck Chargin Jr./ndix UR's "MDLOps" JCarter426's "JC's Cloaked Jedi Robes & Supermodel Port for K1 - Supermodels" stoffe/Fair Strides' "TSLPatcher" and DarthParametric's past-present modding knowledge , My first ever porting attempt went a success! I remembered back then; the very first thing I wanted to do with modding is on doing this, which ends-up me going nowhere with the attempt lol. So, although I'm not actually "create" one, it is always a pleasing feeling to see an effort comes to fruition. Again, credits to the aforementioned folks; as only because of their effort, the dream isn't just a dream. May the Force be with you all!
