  1. Hey everybody. I'm relatively new to Deadly Stream, although not to KOTOR/TSL and modding the games in general, so I hope that this is in the correct forum. I recently heard somewhere that Yuthura Ban has cut dialogue that would imply that she could be recruited if Juhani was dead. Presumably, this would mean that she is still a dark jedi, although I can't say for certain. I wanted to know if anyone could fact-check this and determine A) if Yuthura was once intended to be a party member, and how much could be salvaged and restored. Are there voice overs? Lines from her as a companion or just in the process of recruiting her? A side-quest? Also, for future reference, how would I go about checking that myself? Thanks!
  2. Ok, so i read the FAQs and whatnor for the KSE and saw something about how cloud saves from the Steam version of KoToR2 wouldnt not be found by the KSE. I get that part,m but what i am confused about is how to fix it to where you can put the saves somewhere so that the KSE can find it. Im sure it's been explained and im just blind and cant see it, haha, but some help here would be greatly appreciated :D Thanks guys and gals!
  3. Hey all.. New to the mod thing.. Well i have a laptop just not sure how to start... But kotor has been an all time favorite of mine and i like the mods that ive played. I cant seem to find any recent lists of compatible mods nor a proper BOS:SR. But help in any direction is better than where im at now. Thanks
  4. File Name: Quanons Mission Color Pack File Submitter: Quanon File Submitted: 26 Jun 2017 File Category: Skins K1R Compatible: Yes Quanons Mission Color Pack Hello, everyone, Here follows a small mod, well more a variation on a mod I did earlier. A reskin for Mission Vao. Though this time I altered her skin color. You can pick any of 5 I made. Red, Green, Yellow, Purple and White/ Cream. Have a look at the screenshots and the row of portrait shots. Those will show you just how colorful I made it. As before, nothing changed much to her vanilla look, besides the color. To install, copy all the TGA files, each color has it's own folder, to your Override. That's it! The mod is installed. Enjoy! Click here to download this file
  5. Quanons Jolee Reskin View File Quanons Jolee Reskin. It has taken me some time to get the last of my reskins out of the door. But it's here! Jolee, the old Jedi hermit, crazy wisecracking cook, had been done for some time. So have a peek at the screenshots, as I've given him the same treatment as my other reskins. A nice size boost; which allowed me to put in a more texture to his skin and clothes. I've kept his classic vanilla look, so no changes to his design. Just more crisp and sharp looking details all over. Jolee comes with 3 differant icons. I've put those in a folder. When installing just rename the icon properly. You only need to remove the '02' or '03' suffix. For the other files, just copy them to the Override and done! By demand a more hairy chest version has been added! 6. So if folks are wondering on how I do this portrait rendering, here follows a quick and dirty run down: The place to start is a tutorial I made some time back, as part of a lightmap tutorial. This part deals about setting up the render engine and lighting: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kw7btvf80epzcyp/Lights%26Render.pdf I'll now list a few extra tweaks I found that improved the look of the portraits, since the above mentioned tutorial deals more with lighting an area instead of a character. A first note/change: When reading the tutorial, pause at the step where you switch 'on" Global Illumination (Step 2 on the screenshot) ;-) There is a small box called Multiplier, it has a value of 1,0. You can enter 5,0 in there. Below that is Maximum Photons per sample; this is set to 500. Jack it up to 40.000. Keep following the instructions about how to setup the lights and other bits. Nothing changes there. Next use MDLops to compile your model to ASCII. Use NWmax to import. To setup a good shot of the character: 1. First, make a big box that surrounds the model. 2. Turn the box into an Editable Poly (for example, the right-click menu has "Convert To..."->"Editable Poly"). 3. Chamfer the ceiling and floor edges in the back. 4. Delete the front and sides of the box. 5. Change the selection to "Select by Element" and click on the box. 6. Then use the Flip button. Now all of the faces face inwards. 7. With all the faces still selected, scroll down to smoothing options. Click on autosmooth. Deselect the faces. Now you can open the Material editor (M-key). Change any slot from the Standard material to Arch&Design. In the options of this material, there is a drop down list. Pick 'Pearl Finish'. Apply this material to the chamfer 'box' background. Add in some lights (3 to 4 lights works best). 3 to 4 spotlights work best; only one of them casts shadows. Depending on the model, Shadowmap ( soft-edged shadows) or RayTraced Shadows ( hard crisp edges) work best for your render. Example screenshots for the spotlights: This is how my scene looks like: View of the material thingy I talked about: Getting the shot: 1. Select any viewport, just click on it. 2. Hit the P-key to change it to an Perspective 3D view. Move around the view until you get the view/shot/look of the character you want. 3. Hit Ctrl+C to create a camera, followed by Shift+F. This will set the Safe Frame. The view port now has the same size and dimensions as what your rendered image will be. If that is set at 800x600, the view will now look like that. If it is set at 1024x1024, the viewport will now be square. You can further tweak the camera, even move it around in the other viewports. You'll see the changes in the 3D viewport instantly. To get the same camera setup I used (to get a look that closely resembles the game portraits), set the camera like this: Lens: 43 - 44 ( a value in between) FOV: 45.00 These are the only options you will need to tweak a little sometimes. It depends on the pose and look of the character. Notice that in the example screenshots of my scenes, the camera is really close to the character. Example screenshots: Remember, just like the meshes, you can move the camera object and it's target with the move and rotate tool. Like this you can really capture the perfect shot. For the skins of the character I just use the Standard material (all of the character textures will be in at least one slot in the Material Editor, though a different one than the one we used earlier). I drop the skin into the Diffuse slot, as well as the Spec Color, Spec level, Glossiness, and Bump slots. Then I can play around with the specular values and the glossiness. For human skin I mostly go for Spec 55 and Gloss 35. For the Bump slot, I scale back to 15 or 5. After all of this, you can render a shot using the Render menu. Notes: You can play around with the values, it just depends on what you want. Just experiment, do lots of little test renders. Best at 512x512 for example. Quick to do and you get a good idea on how the end result looks like.
  7. Hi guys, I haven't played KotOR or TSL in years! Now I'd like to start again. To my delight I find that there is a still striving modding community. So, I'd like to ask your help in choosing the essential mods for the best possible KotOR/TSL experience. A bit more about my background: I came to KotOR late and played it in 2008 for the first time in it's vanilla state. Needless to say, I loved it! So, I bought TSL on ebay and started playing. I was soon hooked. The writing is so incredible and I was blown away by Kreia and (having played as the perfect good guy all throughout KotOR) saw myself forced (or tricked) into accepting dark side points. About one fourth into the game, however, I heard from a friend that TSL is a rushed game and incomplete, especially towards the end. I did a bit of research and discovered the modding community and realized that there are mods in the making for restoring some of the cut content. Being overwhelmed by all the different mods people created, I stopped playing TSL. Also, I wanted to have a decent restored content mod and these seemed to be still unfinished back then. So, sadly, for many years I didn't touch TSL because I wanted to have the best possible experience or none at all (for now at least). This week I came across KotOR/TSL on Steam. I longed for playing them again and to finally play through TSL. So, the last few days I researched what the modding community has been up to in all these years. Now, there seems so to be this all-round care free package TSLRCM. I thought about just taking that and start playing. But since I love these games so much, I'd really, really like to have the best possible experience. Problem is: Now I am employed and have a family. I don't have this kind of time anymore to get into modding to find out which mods I want exactly. It's difficult enough for me now to even find the time for playing. So please help me out! I'd like to have your suggestions for mods that would enhance/enrich the TSL experience without changing the game too much. Perhaps I will be interested in the more crazier and gamechanging mods when I'm through with the game. And by the way: since I didn't finish TSL yet, please be wary of spoilers. I'd also appreciate suggestions for KotOR I. Although I liked the game as it was, perhaps there are also some must-have mods that you would recommend? And one last thing: On what systems do you play KotOR/TSL? I remember having a lot of trouble with game crashes. I even intalled WindowsXP again to make it more playable. How is it today? Does the Steam version work on Win7? Thank you so much for any suggestions! - Kazebu

Often times I did, I would download mods, just to know where the workbenches were! So this mod, allows you to use your "tool bag" as a workbench at any location, at any time! The readme has full disclosure on how to use, where to get it, and all of that useful information. I hope you enjoy this mod. And please, I beg of you, if you find a potential bug with my mod, send me a PM or comment below. As always, feedback is welcome, regardless of it's nature! 9. Can someone make a mod where there's actual people in the audience for the taris arena instead of that weird flat texture? It really makes me angry, since I have so many high quality graphics mods on that that is the only part of the game that remains unmodified. If it is not possible to add actual npc's, then can someone just remake the texture so that they look like actual npcs? Also, can you make the rakata looking thing not present as well?
  10. Quanons & Djh269 Armor Pack View File Quanons & Djh269 Armor Pack This mod will install a unique set of armours for your Jedi Character. Nothing gets replaced, the armors work as a disguise. Like the Sith armor or the Tusken Raider clothes you find in the game. Because the armor works as a disguise you'll notice that the head of your character also changes. It will look like a black head; a very dark leather texture has been applied. Next pick, any of the helmets included with this mod. And your armor is now complete! To get the goodies, read on below 🙂 This mod will also change the encounters with the Sith you have on Tatooine and Kashyyk. Now each battle is unique, instead of being clones, all npcs have been made a little harder to beat. As a reward, beat the evil guys on Tatooine and somewhere in Anchorhead a container will be appear with all the nice new armors. To install: Use the TSLpatcher and it will apply all the needed changes to your game. Done! Compatible: This mod should not create any conflicts with most other mods out there. I still advice, to install it after bigger mods, such as the K1 restoration mod. Since that mod alters lots of files. Use the TSLpatcher to avoid bugs and problems 😉 Credits: Djh269: Setting up the TSLpatcher, altering the Sith parties, creating the scripts. Quanon: Models and skins; UTI files. 11. Now, don't get me wrong, I like the last few levels of the game just fine. But after over TWENTY times (pathetic I know) it can get just a tad repetitive. So I figured why not a mod that HEAVILY changes the last couple levels in the game? Because I couldn't mod if my life depended on it, that's why. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of new areas, new dialogue (maybe even a new ending?) So here's just a list of things that I would do myself, but can't because I'm not a modder. Warning: Spoiliops Ahead Unknown World Changes -Add Hammerhead Wreck Entrance (around corner by Black Rakatan Tribe) -Add Hammerhead Wreck Interior (basically a darker Endar Spire w/ UW Skyboxes) -Add 1 of 2 Hyperdrive Parts in Hammerhead (second being by Freighter Wreck) -Add Sith outside Temple -Add dialogue option w/ Bastila where Revan explains how he's done with the Light and Dark Side and how Bastila can follow him/her as well. Bastila calls Revan weak, swears allegiance to Malak and flees. -(Lightside Only) Add a part where Revan & his/her Party are captured by the Black Rakata and have a team of party members try to rescue him/her (something like the Goto captures Exile part in KOTOR 2) -Change "Invisible Mandalorian" Quest to where they'll only spawn if you talk to Garn -Change opening fight w/ Rakata by rusted engine -Change Rancor health to make them a bit stronger -Remove Duros survivors -Remove Rancors by Elder Tribe -Remove Plasma Vents Star Forge Changes -Add Health to Bastila in Command Center -Add Health to Star Forge Battle Droids -Add Battle Droids in Deck 2 -Change Malak killing Jedi scene as to where he's on the other side of the room and have a cutscene of Revan running after Malak while he kills the Jedi in the same fashion he does. They talk across the room and Malak activates the generators. While Revan is fighting, he casually walks out. -Change Droid Generator part to where Revan can't disable them in the room and have him fight the droids for a while until it cuts to the party outside the Ebon Hawk w/ the Jedi waiting for Revan. Revan contacts T3 and tells him he and 2 party members of choice have to get to a Computer Console to shut down the factory. The player's party fights their way through an army of droids to the armor generating console and has to shut down the factory with 50 spikes (dropped via the droids). -Change Malak meeting Revan scene in Factory where Malak is on top of the middle ramp looking down at Revan. They talk, Malak twirls his saber and he jumps at Revan. -Change Malak's Health, Strength, Wisdom and Dexterity to make him an actual challenge. -Change Malak fight where instead of having to get rid of the captive Jedi, Revan has to drain Malak's health bar multiple times and each time he does, a cutscene engages. The first is where Malak talks about how Revan continues to amaze him, calls him a fool and talks about how the Star Forge is alive. Instead of saying, "not when I can draw upon the power of all these Jedi" he just says "You cannot beat me Revan. Not here on the Star Forge". So a bit of voice splicing is required. He twirls his lightsaber and they fight again. The second time Revan drains Malak's health, Revan Force Pushes Malak and slashes his metal jaw off. Malak is enraged tells Revan he's tired of this game, uses Force Lightning and tells Revan that he has surpassed them and accomplished what they never could. He talks about how Revan is nothing and how he stand alone and They fight one more time. Malak falls, gives his dying speech and dies. Misc. Changes -If Revan told Bastila that there's no light or dark for him/her anymore, Bastila walks up to Revan in the Factory and Revan talks about how Malak was right about him/her standing alone. The screen fades to black, Revan remembers how Jolee told him that they have the choice as to where they'll take their destiny, Revan and Bastila run out the door and the Star Forge explodes. Instead of cutting to the Celebration on the Unknown World, it cuts to a brand new BIK Movie of Revan (hood and mask) and Bastila in a ship, they look at each other and jump to Hyperspace. Roll credits. Now, I'm not expecting anyone to bow to my whim and make this real. I was just babbling about how I would've liked to have Kotor end. Not everything in here was original, as I had seen some of this in a fan film a couple years back. If anyone actually DOES try to make this happen, that would blow my mind. Still, as a wise hermit told me, you have the choice of which way to take your destiny.
  12. Yuthura Ban HD View File With the help of mod creator, Cache71, I decided to finally take the plunge and made my first reskin mod: an HD version of Yuthura Ban. This resin is based on the HD Twilek reskin that Cache71 released earlier this year. I have repurposed one of the textures for my resin with his/her permission. The reskin basically takes one of the HD Twilek textures, changes with the colors, and adds an HD version of the Sith Tattoo that Yuthura has. Making the Sith Tattoo took some time and a lot tweaking to get right. One liberty I took was removing the ugly Darkside veins from her. It just never looked that good on her and was a bit distracting. You can tell from the before and after pics that there is a massive improvement. 13. File Name: Quanons Twilek Outfits File Submitter: Quanon File Submitted: 28 Feb 2017 File Category: Skins K1R Compatible: Yes Quanons Twilek Outfits. A new pack to replace the old Twilek skins with a new look. These are new and are differant then the old skins. So it's not really a reskin. Since I went for another style on all of them. Look at the screenshots to pick and choose. I did NOT redo the heads though. I suggest using Caches mod for that. She did a really great job and you can seem them in the screenshots! So you know it just fits The green twilek has 2 options. A Black/ Red out fit or you can go for just the red look overall. Each skin as a TXI file so you should get some shiney effect. It's set to CM_Spec as I like the look of that effect more then CM_Baremetal. Feel free to adjust the TXI to your own liking. INSTALLING: Copy the files from my mod folder to your Override. Done! 14. ****POSSIBLE SPOILERS....if you've never played KOTOR**** Wasn't sure if this is the correct spot for this, so if a moderator feels that it needs to be moved, please feel free to do so. I always thought it felt awkward that, during your initial meeting, Jolee never invites you into his home. He'd been waiting for you (expecting you, even) and here we have what feels like a "Yoda" moment and you just stand outside his front door in the wilderness chatting it up. I think a small mod where he invites you into his studio hole-in-the-wall for a drink (tea, beer, Iridonian whiskey, whatever) would be appropriate. Just one room - Obi-Wan Kenobi meets Yoda's mud-hut. It could add another small but potentially power bit of immersion into a very weird meeting. At most - a table, couple of chairs, some lights - maybe a pot of soup cooking in a corner. Some old crap on the walls. Not sure - single retired-guy stuff. Hell, if it was crappy enough it would at least provide some additional motivation for him to leave with you...
  15. Some people have problems finishing the Taris Swoop Race, which means their story progression is blocked. Existing game saves are pre-K1R v1.2, though. So hereby I attach my Quicksave at the exact point after winning the Taris Swoop Race and just before the brawl against Brejik started. NOTE: I'm playing a Male Scout here, and I have a bunch of mods installed (listed in the spoiler). Most shouldn't affect the gameplay directly at this point, I think. Except "Feat Progression" which had fired several times. Right after winning Taris Swoop.7z
  16. Hello I own the Star Wars : KOTOR Collection CD UK version. It is not the steam version and it is not related to any online services. It is the original edition. I cant make the update happen not in KOTOR 1 or KOTOR 2. I've tried compatibility mode, re installing the games, running as admin and safe mode but nothing seems to work For KOTOR 1: I moved the update files swkotor1_01 swkotor1_02 swkotor1_03 To the game folder. The message/error they give me is this "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic not found. Please re-install the game from the original CD-ROM and try again" The registry entry for the KOTOR 1 is: HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\BIOWARE\SW\KOTOR For KOTOR 2: I moved the update files KotOR2 Patch v201420 UK sw_pc_uk_from201420_to211427 To the game folder. The message/error they give me is this "Missing or Invalid Registry/INI entry. Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match" I've also tried the US version update. Still the same message The registry entry for the KOTOR 2 is: HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\BIOWARE\SW\KOTOR2 BOTH OF THE GAMES ARE V1.0 STRAIGHT FROM THE CD Thank you. 17. Hi everyone! As the title says I'd interested in a Savage Opress mod for K1 and TSL. Maybe making Bao-Dur's head playable with Savage's reskin could do the trick. There is already a Savage Opress mod for Jedi Academy, so the textures if not the whole model is available. I have an idea for Dark Side transition. His original eyes are grayish-green, the first level of the DS transition could be yellow eyes and for the final level he could have yellow-red eyes (Maul-like) and blackish end of his spikes on the head. My only problem is that I've never created a K1/TSL mod, so I ask that if someone could create this mod.

  21. Quanons Bastila Shan Reskin View File This mod will replace and update Bastila Shans textures. Mainly her armor, underwear and head skin. Each has been given a size increase: 2048x2048pix. Which allowed me to put in a few more details. The slave outfit, when you meet Bastila, for the first time on Taris hasn't been updated, just yet. But I felt, that I could release this anyway and at a later date do the slave outfit. Redrob also contributed an update to Bastilas head model, he fixed nasty bugs on her UVmap, which improved on how her skin gets applied to the model. And this ofcourse just improves the whole thing overall! Added a second version: this one is even more "vanilla", eyes are differant; less vibrant lipstick and make-up. Thanks Redrob! Version 1.3: A reworked head skin; now also comes with 4 hair colors to pick from. Underwear model has been tweaked to match the new head. Her regular outfit has NOT been altered. 23. Hi folks. As we all know, The Sith Lords got an update a while back that implemented several fixes along with achievements. Browsing this forum and others, it's quite apparent that most fans would love to see the same sort of update for the original game. Due to whatever legal hold up, this doesn't appear to be in the immediate future. Which got me thinking...would it be possible to implement achievements in-game using the journal system? Like normal achievements, they would be tied to events and accomplishments in game. Instead of a pop-up, however, you would receive a special journal update. It would be interesting if you could implement some sort of in game bonus upon the completion of certain achievements, similar to the original Mass Effect. Obviously, an additional screen within the journal just for achievements would be ideal. I'm not well versed on the intricacies of modding this fine game yet, so I have no idea if this would be possible. Beyond the obvious level and milestone based, what achievements would you like to see if this idea were implemented?
  24. Quanons Carth Onasi Reskin View File Another reskin finished. This time Carth gets a facelift. Upped the size of his head, clothing and underwear skin. Kept it very vanilla, no major changes to hair color, eyes or anything of that sort: just basic Carth. But a little crisper looking. Update V1.2: Carth did receive a make over on his hair. He can now be a blondy; a manly black or, more like his vanilla look a 'brunette'; comes in 2 flavors, regular tone and a darker shade. Pick your favorite! Each has a matching portrait. The regular brown is closets to his old game look. Only the hair has received an update. All the other parts of this mod are the same like before. 25.
