What's this? Lips that don't clip?
Could it be there was absolutely nothing wrong with the animations and they were just missing keyframes that do nothing? Could it be I have to go through every weapon idle and fidget animation to place keyframes that don't actually do anything?
Yeah, that sounds like KOTOR.

Caused them, more like. It's fine in K1. I guess I should've blamed the Odyssey engine in general. Obsidian changed the positions of the face bones and while that's not the cause of the problem, I'm guessing that's how the problem happened. For the most part, the bones don't move during combat animations, so they don't need keyframes. But because they lack keys at the start and end of each animation, something about the way the game plays them is bugging out and causing the lips to clip.
The solution is to add tons of keyframes that don't actually do anything.
