  1. In your opinion - Could a Sith carry a lightsaber that’s not red?

      In the old pre-Disney canon it was not unusual thing for Sith and Dark Jedi to wield sabers of all colors. For example, Exar Kun used his blue double-bladed saber even after becoming a Sith Lord.

      IIRC, Jedi used natural crystals which produced blades of all colors except red. Sith usually used synthetic crystals which could produce blade of any color, including red. It was also believed that Sith-made synthetic crystals created a slightly more powerful blade when energized by the dark side of the Force.

       

      But now Disney changed everything in a VERY STUPID way. From Wookiepedia:

      "Kyber crystals were inherently attuned to the light side of the Force, and would attempt to resist any effort by dark side practitioners to use them in lightsabers. To this end, the only way a Sith, or other darksider could make use of a kyber crystal was to use the Force to dominate the crystal, bending it to their will. This process would cause the crystal to "bleed", as if it were a living organism, resulting in the distinctive crimson-bladed lightsabers synonymous with the Sith."

      So in new (Disney) canon a Dark-sider cannot use non-red saber.

  3. Empire at War has been updated on Steam with new multiplayer and Steam Workshop support, that should be good.

  5. Just found out, there is a minium character requirement for dlg files, spent three days trying to figure this out...

      Never heard about minimum requirement. 4-character files worked for me, but I didn't tried anything shorter (and didn't tried this with *.dlg-files)

      Maximum is 16 characters, that I know for sure.

  10. Have anybody read Disney's EULA (https://disneytermsofuse.com/)? I usually have problems with understanding juridical language (for me it's all gibberish no matter in which language it's written), so can somebody translate it from "legal English" to "human English"? (look at GOG EULA for reference: https://www.gog.com/support/policies/gog_user_agreement). I'm most interested in the User Generated Content part. Is porting from one KotOR game (or other SW-games)...

      My GOG versions of KotOR/TSL doesn't even have that old EULA, only Disney's. I wonder if it's same with Steam version.

      It actually matters, 'cause all rights to SW-related production is now belong to Disney. You even need to accept Disney's EULA if you buy ANY SW-game these days (at least, on GOG)

  13. Anyone else know a way to fix the dialogue skips with the updated version of Kotor II?

      Dialogue skips? IF it's what I'm thinking it is - this engine related issue was in the game since it's initial release. The only known way to fix it is to quit the game and restart it.

  14. Decided to replay Witcher 1... And made an interesting discovery - Witcher can use weapon models exported directly from NWMax (official Witcher 3DS Max exporter doesn't work for me)... I have a lot of modding ideas;) Will need to experiment with animated models.

      IMHO, it's THE BEST game of 2007 ;) Maybe it's because I'm a huge fan of the Witcher books :)

      BTW, second game is also great, although completely different in gameplay terms.

  17. OMG i am on the verge of a modding breakthrough, custom envmaps, (cuubemaps) are possible, even animatable. wow! so excited

  18. I knew that it was a bad idea to run Civilization V... Goodbye modding, I have a world to capture.

      Global warming was cut in Civ5. Just like many other things.

      But I really like what they made with combat (only 1 unit in 1 cell, hexed instead of squares) - combat is now actually interesting.

      I've seen those. They all show the weapon from the left side, where clip is attached, and I need some other views. Looks like I'll have to reinstall the game ;) Or just experiment, I didn't planned to make exact replicas anyway.
