So....HEYYYY!
I'm back...sort of.
So I recently broke down and bought TSL on STEAM with TSLRCM 1.8.5 and have been trying to play through that without breaking it...
No luck.
I keep crashing at 231TEL.mod right after Atton's dialog in the shuttle and the little movie clips of the shuttle getting shot down.
First instinct was to blame it on Bao-Dur. But I dont think that's it.
Has there been any issues reported with this .mod file or Bao-Dur crashing the game when he shows up?
Starting to drive me batty as I DO happen to be working on an update of TSSM, trying to get that mod working with Steam's version. Been a learning process for sure...
Also, the big question...should I just be installing my saber mods into TSLRCM's workshop directory straight away?!?
When I go to start working on SLM's compatibility with TSLRCM that might be helpful info.
Anyway..I might be back for awhile to try to get my old saber mods running for Steam.

The Steam version is fine, just don't use the Workshop for anything more than texture mods or if you're only using TSLRCM(+m4-78EP). If you want to use any other mods as well, then either install them into the TSLRCM workshop folder or just skip the workshop entirely and get TSLRCM from here as well.
As for the Steam version itself: It does work fine most of the time and comes with handy upgrades like native widescreen support. However, it also introduces new bugs like broken shaders or broken fog. For some of those fixes are floating around, for others they don't.
So I ended up using the legacyPC version on Steam which is identical to the CD version, but that's up to you.

Perhaps someone knows of this little issue. Trying to replace the ambient music for the dark side alignment choices, and for whatever reason (could be the game itself) the music will not play. I've got it as .wav and an mp3 just in case. Any help is appreciated.

Kinda wishing I'd taken pics of the idiocy that was on display here last week...

Seeing a lot of people on here having custom images as their 'banner' on their profile (above the user pic and name), yet I can't seem to find an option to do it on mine in "Edit Profile"...help, anyone?

Has your mod been used without either attribution or permission? Don't be so sure.
Check this Reddit thread first.(I removed the link as to not exacerbate a resolved situation. Hopefully, others will remove their links to it as well.) -
Whenever I trigger a custom DLG file in K2 Steam version it skips through all the lines? Anyone know why? I have "node unskippable" checked for all the lines and this doesn't happen when I use the disc version of the game...

I have no experience with creating phn files but from the error message it seems that you need wav files for the phn-generation.
But you don't have to recreate those anyway. You just need to convert the wavs to mp3 and put those into the correct subfolder of the game. That has nothing to do with phn (and I assume you were going for lip) files unless you changed something in the audio file. But if it's the same in a different format you don't have to recreate those.

I was able to find what's causing my TSL not to start. It's the service called "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder". Disabling that allows me to start the game (GoG or LegacyPC on Steam) just fine.
The problem is that this service is necessary to have any audio at all in Windows. So now I can either play without sound or with the broken fog from the Aspyr patch... Great, just great.

It doesn't crash for me either. It just doesn't launch.
But it's also a recent problem. TSL has been working fine ever since I built this PC with Win 10. It was only last month after a longer modding break that for some reason the GoG version would no longer launch. At that point the legacypc version on Steam was still working but a few weeks later the same thing happened there.
I don't know why. Reinstalling Windows might even fix it, but I don't want to do that right now.

So today I wanted to finally do some modding again and guess what, my TSL gog installation won't launch anymore. Tried repairing, compability modes, reinstallation, but nothing helped.
That was certainly not helping with motivation...

No, I haven't. And I don't think that's the issue either. The very same game installation has been working fine on this exact system. The only reason I can think of is that some Windows update or graphics driver update broke something.
It's not a big deal though, I just switched to the Steam installation that's still working.

Is this hologram statue placeable:
only used in the computer room of the Elder's compound? I did a quick browse but couldn't seen any obvious uses of it elsewhere (on Lehon at least).

I was wondering: does the music from KotOR1 and KotOR2 that is included in SWTOR have a higher bit rate in SWTOR than in their original games? If so, perhaps someone should consider making a mod to to take advantage of that.

And I forgot to save the latest changes to my Dantooine skybox... Great. 😪

Random question: How do you change the banner on your profile?
-
Other than Kotor Tool, is there a modding tool that can enable me to edit 2da files?

I was in a car accident. People are fine, car is mostly fine, deer didn’t report in for a check-up but run away. I got a good scare, that’s for sure.

SW: KotOR Upgrade - Epilogue. The project has been cancelled. Due to what I personally feel have been not harsh but rather arbitrary and unfair requirements from the Staff, I had really no other choice but to shut it down. The topic was first locked then cancelled so that there is no trace of what happened. I am sad about this since people could have made up their own mind about it. I want to thank each modder that lent their talent to this project. Peace out!

So this has been puzzling me for some time. Is Dantooine's natural sky color purple, and if so why is it that way? (different sun color or perhaps a native flora in the atmosphere?)
