This mod will change Bastila's head to look more like the game cover art.

Fully weighted for talking and facial expressions, along with hair movement.

Screenshots taken without the retexture included.

  • Also includes a small fix for Bastila's standard clothes texture.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the files from the 7z file and place them in the Override folder.

Head model: p_bastilah.mdl and p_bastilah.mdx

Retexture: P_BastilaH04.tpc

  • If you do not want the standard clothes texture fix, do not place P_BastilaBB01.tpc in your Override folder.

Alternate version by DarthParametric that adds Bastila's custom animations (what the vanilla Bastila head uses):

  • Pause animations (idles)
  • Talk (lips flapping)
  • Tlknormal (the rest of the face when talking)
  • Listen animation

Earlier versions simply fall through to the supermodel's animations.

In your opinion, will this work with head reskins? Such as Dark Hope's Reskin?

 

If I could use that skin with this head model at the same time, this might just become a staple to my Override!

This is an abandonware re-upload of a mod, created under the author’s name, and it is not going to be actively supported.

That said, if someone were to provide a fix for the off-centered eye, that would be a welcomed addition.

 

Regarding your question though, Dark Hope/Dark Hopa had already used the head for a reskin, so everything should be fine.

Try the attached. Fixed the lazy left eye, increased the pupil size, switched the head texture to TPC (with added vanilla clamp TXI data), and swapped the body texture fix to the one K1CP uses (i.e. adds the envmap TXI data). Also edited the readme accordingly.

Not sure I'm testing this properly. What animations in particular should I look out for? I'm currently in a new playthrough so it's going to be tested quite extensively either way, but I can do a better job if I have a general idea on when it could be a good time to swap the files and compare the two versions.

All right, after multiple comparisons, I can safely say that the version above is not how the face is supposed to look like. The mouth opens too much when talking, and what's happening in the listen and idle animations is that she's perpetually frowning upwards in a concerned sort of way. One of the idle animations looked interesting at first until I noticed she wasn't making the expressions she was supposed to be making when compared to the female player character.

I should point out that none of these animations appear to be missing in the head model from the current version. Her eyebrows appear to be moving normally in all instances, and the mouth looks fine when talking.

The earlier version will just fall through to the supermodel's anims, the same as all the player heads use. The anims on the newer one are what the vanilla Bastila head uses, but I guess the changes to the mesh and/or weights resulted in some undesirable behaviour. No doubt that's why Tempust dropped them in the first place.

Edit: Upon re-evaluating Bastila's custom animations in the modded head and contrasting them with the way they look in vanilla, this version will be published at the very least as an alternate version, as it merits the appreciation, and some could argue the expressions fit her character better.

I recommend trying both new versions to see which one you prefer. The differences are not noticeable by screenshots alone.

I'd vibe with this a lot more if the eyes were sliiiightly closer together.

 

But considering it's a full on remodel I appreciate it for what it is
