Drop Those Lightsabers!

A Minor Immersion Mod made by K.O.2 Mods (aka The Frozen One on deadlystreams)

Version: 1.0

About this Mod:
When you meet the first Sith and Jedi dueling on the Endar Spire, you see them fighting with lightsabers. But when you loot them after they've met with a terrible fate, there are no lightsabers to be found. Not a single one! This has always been a minor annoyance of mine on each playthrough I've started. With this mod, both the Dark Jedi and Jedi drop their red and blue lightsabers respectively. Just loot both of their belongings in order to get both sabers. You can't wield these weapons until you are supposed to later in the game, but you can still sell them for cold hard credits if you wish.

How to use/activate/enable this Mod:
Just copy n_sithappren001.utc and n_sithappren002.utc from the "Drop Those Lightsabers!" folder and paste both files into your Override folder. You must start a new game in order for this mod to work.

To those that helped me with this Mod:
Thanks to ebmar and Mellowtron11 for their extremely detailed walkthroughs on how to make this mod. I couldn't have done this without their help.

Dropping certain UTC files into the override folder can cause problems as Bioware duplicated quite a few UTC files in different modules. I'd check to see if any files in the Modules section of Kotor Tool references both of your UTC files :)

djh269 are absolutely correct about that.

...check to see if any files in the Modules section...

For that, you can use this awesome tool right here -

With the tool you can do file search and perform extraction to both KoTOR and TSL resources.

By using that I have checked possible duplicate appearance of n_sithappren001.utc and n_sithappren002.utc, and apparently you're lucky that they only appear on Endar Spire - Command Module module [end_m01aa] throughout the game.

Edit: disregard! To listen djh269, you should. I just checked and indeed there're duplicates of n_sithappren001 there in the said modules. Apparently the tool missed them on searches. Our bad! 😛

Thanks for checking out my mod, and I appreciate the feedback. I will make an update to this restoring the vanilla items I had removed as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay in my response, we've had thunderstorms in our area for 3 days straight so I've kept my PC off for the most part until now lol.

Also I'm not sure what to do with the duplicate uti files in different modules. Should I be extracting the dupes, then editing them a certain way? I've played with this mod up until I got HK-47 on my old playthrough, but haven't run into any crashes or anything of that sort.

Really like this, but I miss the vibrate cell that is always dropped here in vanilla.

I've updated the mod, I added back in the Vibration Cell and the other vanilla items. Let me know if you have any other issues with the mod and I'll keep working on it.

That would be great! That little upgrade is useful in the very beginning of the game.

I'm not sure, I'm really new to this, but I would think that anything in the override folder would take precedence.

Yeah, be careful with those storms. We're getting them bad here, too.

These do reference to the Star Forge. They interfere with the first cutscene with Malak on the Star Forge. Easy work around, just delete the two files.
