Dark Jedi Wear Robes (for JC's Cloaked Jedi Robes Mod) 1.0.1

About This File

This mod changes the Dark Jedi appearance (male and female) from a skin tight jumpsuit to the TSL Knight robes (ported to K1 by JCarter). The hood and head of the original models have been retained, with the hood being worked into the torso mesh to make it a more natural looking extension of the cloak. Two extra masked head variants have also been added, ported from the TSL Dark Jedi/Assassins. The Dark Jedi you encounter throughout the game have had their appearances diversified between these three versions, along with swapping a few genders here and there. Additionally, the three Dark Jedi masters on the Star Forge have been given unique appearances.

This mod takes advantage of the port of TSL’s robes added by @JCarter426’s mod “JC's Fashion Line I: Cloaked Jedi Robes for K1”. As such, that mod is a prerequisite. You must at the very least install the supermodels from JC's mod (S_FemaleXX/S_MaleXX), as this mod will not function correctly without those.

Compatibility:

  • As mentioned, the mod relies on JC's robes mod. As such, any other mod that alters the supermodels will not be compatible unless based on his supermodels.
  • The mod changes the base vanilla appearances of the four male and one female Dark Jedi. It will not be compatible with any mods that alter those.
  • The mod makes extensive module changes. Make sure that any mods that brute force MOD file installs, like NPC Overhaul or K1R, are installed first.

Acknowledgements:

  • Thanks to @JCarter426 for making the modder's resource used to make these robes available, for helping out with script edits for the Star Forge Deck 2/3 modules to diversify the random spawns, and tracking down the obscure spawn origin of one particular group
  • Thanks to @Fair Strides for the edited version of TSLPatcher capable of handling duplicate filenames
  • Thanks to @bead-v for KOTORMax and MDLEdit
  • Thanks to @ndix UR for TGA2TPC
  • Thanks to @Darth_Sapiens for the Cubemap Pack modder's resource
  • Masks for two of the Masters on the Star Forge ported from The Old Republic MMO
  • Thanks to zaramot on the Xentax forums for the TOR GR2 Max import script
  • Thanks to @akimbo73 for pointing out the TSLPatcher issue with the SF Deck 3 module

When JCs robe mod came out I still decided to keep the good old K1 Prequal Robe mod. This mod, on the other hand, has made me changed my mind.

God, this looks awesome!

You can still use the Prequel Robes mod if you want. You just need to make sure you use the supermodels from JC's mod in order for the Dark Jedi robes to work properly. I'll update the description to make that clearer.

I downloaded it the way it was instructed. I suppose it could be something else but everything on the star forge is glitched when it comes to sith appearance. And only sith. Malak looks like a dark jedi with the skull like mask now(although it was kind of cool in its own way) and so does the admiral who talks to him at the beginning of the level and bastila is the sith governor(although this may be something else). Weird thing is anything before the star forge is completely fine.  I suspect this mod may be the cause at its the only thing I have downloaded that alters NPC and character appearance.

The mod doesn't touch either Bastila or Malak. There are three possible scenarios:

  1. You installed another mod that screwed up the Star Forge modules
  2. You installed another mod that screwed up appearance.2da
  3. You did something yourself that screwed up one or both

You can try taking sta_m45aa.mod and sta_m45ab.mod out of the Modules and putting them somewhere else outside the game folder temporarily, then load a save before arriving on the Star Forge. If the appearances are still screwed up then it is an appearance.2da problem. If not, something happened to the modules.

In either case, you don't list what mods you have installed, the order you installed them in, or provide any installation logs, so it's impossible to diagnose the root cause.

Could you think of any reason the robes don't appear at all? When the dark jedi show up they are just that, Plain old dark jedi. I'm thinking maybe I should delete some file somewhere or something to get them to show up with majestic flowing robes... But i'm not sure what I should be looking for. Any advice or idea where I should start would be appreciated . I love the mod btw!

Yes I did, It did give me a warning message on the first install.  I'll uninstall it and reinstall it real quick to see the message again.

...Aaaaannnd I just deleted my Appearance.2da file....

Alright so SOMETHING, I'm not sure what, had the same name as one of the mods modules. So now that I've deleted it and ran the installer it went smoothly and installed no problem. So far so good anyways, still don't know what was using that file. Thanks for the Mod!

Lovely work here man. Actually makes them look really cool, as opposed to those honestly silly looking jumpsuits in vanilla. And the hood blends so naturally into the robes.

I'm may be experiencing a bug with this mod that makes Bastila irredeemable during the Star Forge confrontation during the romance part of the dialog. The only other mod I'm using that alters the sta_m45ac.mod is the K1 Community Patch. I tried installing this mod before and after K1CP on different builds with the same result.

Here's what I tested so far:

If I remove sta_m45ac.mod completely from the modules folder, then I can redeem Bastila.

If I use the backup mod file that has the changes from K1CP, but not the alterations from your mod, I also can redeem Bastila.

If I use a backup mod file with the changes from your mod, but not from K1CP, then I'm forced to kill her even though I passed the persuade checks.

Lastly, if I install both mods in any order, I'm forced to kill her.

Ah, I see the problem. The mod doesn't touch Bastila. The only thing it edits in that module is the script that endlessly spawns mooks, adding various new Dark Jedi to the spawn list. But the module has scripts with + and other characters in their filenames, and the old versions of TSLPatcher fail to save them in ERFs/MODs they edits. K1CP uses an unreleased fixed version of TSLPatcher that doesn't have this problem.

You can just take the exe from the K1CP folder and use that with my mod instead to reinstall it and it should be fine. I'll upload a fixed version of my mod that includes that exe. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I don't think there's any real need for it in TSL with the added appearances (that these heads are taken from). Do the vanilla K1 Dark Jedi pajamas ever show up?

I just think it would be nice to have a great hood mod for TSL and the masks with it are a huge plus and I am honestly unsure about the dark jedi pj's,and thanks for the quick reply, happy thanksgiving btw

Hey DarthParametric:) Is it possible to install this badass mod without the running animation changes? Or somehow revert/edit the values like ZimmMaster's movement animation mod?  https://deadlystream.com/files/file/465-movement-animation-fix-for-both-kotor-and-tsl/

Edit: Nvm it seems the supermodels (S_FemaleXX/S_MaleXX) from JC's cloaked mod changes the animations. I've decided to forego JC's mod, although the robes look like cardboard now but at least the Dark Jedi aren't wearing onesies anymore haha, and they still look badass when standing still. Thanks again for another amazing mod!

Over two years late, but yes, in the Trayus Academy, TSLRCM placed the OG Dark Jedi pajamas on the students and alumni that previously had commoner appearances in vanilla K2.

The two should have no direct interaction/crossover with each other, so install order shouldn't matter. But if you are worried, install Back in Black first.

Jedi Diversity literally recommends using it in conjunction with this mod. Not sure where you got the idea they are incompatible. Did you actually read the mod description?

Both this mod and Jedi Diversity require JC's TSL supermodel ports. As long as those are present in the Override, you don't technically need to fully use one of his robe mods, which would allow you to use the movie robes mod.

From reading in the comments section of Jedi Diversity,  the conversations between you and @N-DReW25, made it sound as though the Movie Robes weren't compatible, as of yet..
