JC's Supermodel Fix for K1 1.0

About This File

This is a fix for a number of issues present on the supermodels, the stock animations used for most characters in the game.

When wielding dual melee weapons, male hands would clip through the weapons for some animations, notably the looping ready pose. The issue seemed to be that the fingers were gripping the weapon too tightly, so I loosened them up for the male models.

If you think you've spotted any other issues, send me a picture so I can confirm what the problem is and whether it's an issue with the supermodels. If so, I'll add it to my to-do list.

No, they aren't. However, all the fixes are also included in Cloaked Jedi Robes & Slave Bastila, so if you use either of those mods you don't need this.

I don't know why but this doesn't appear to be working for me, still looks like the weapons (especially sabers) are being held though the male's fingers.

I'll need to see pictures. This only fixes a couple animations, but if there's a clear problem with another one, I can take a look.

Can't take a picture with OBS so I hope video will do, although OBS also doesn't like KOTOR it seems but I think it still shows the issue well enough.

Hmm, actually that is one of the animations that should be fixed and it looks like the fixes aren't in effect.

First, I'd suggest checking that you installed everything properly to Override and that you aren't using other mods that might conflict. Then delete all the S_Female and S_Male files from Override and reinstall.

Alternatively, you could use the ported supermodel sets from Cloaked Jedi Robes or Slave Bastila. They include all the fixes.

The Slave Bastila mod fixed the problem of the saber being held inside the fingers while in the combat pose, and when the character runs. But with that installed the hilt is now inside his thumb while he's standing still (not in combat) and while walking.

I have tried creating a different Override folder and only installing this mod into it but had the original issue I mentioned still (and deleting that and only installing the Bastila mod also lead to this same thumb issue)

That I'll have to look into. It's probably a problem with the KOTOR 2 supermodel that got carried over.
As to your original issue, I don't know. It doesn't happen to me, obviously. If you're on a non-Windows operating system it could be some file system issue.

I'm using Windows 10 and the GOG version of the game if that helps.

Hmm, I wouldn't expect a problem from Windows but I have never actually tested on Windows 10. I can, but I'll have to get back to you.

Something I just noticed that I wanted to point out. The problem with the melee weapon going through the thumb on the human male model when dual-wielding, happens to Zaalbar both when dual-wielding and when only holding 1 weapon.

Edit: Actually nevermind, this seems to be a vanilla issue with Zaalbar

Hey JCarter426, I think I may have found some of my own. It appears that female fingers clip through double bladed lightsabers and Rodians cannot form a two handed grip on weapons. Could these be SM issues?176px-KotOR_Model_Lavin_Thug-1.png.bb562358722028cc2a4fab03deebb205.png561761484_ScreenShot2020-05-08at4_42_14PM.png.eb587210a9214a72ae65a3fa72ed18fc.png

Unfortunately, in my case this does not solve the problem. Is this the final version of the fix?

I managed to discover a few things:

- if you unequip/equip your armor with your swords drawn, it will somehow reset your character's pose and move the off hand sword/lightsaber to the correct position in hand - it fixes the glitch and it works every time.

- with a lightsaber in off hand, the flourish animation does not couse the glitch while running, but it does when standing still.

- with a sword in off hand, the flourish animation always couses the glitch.

I think this is because walking with a turned off lightsaber in your off hand uses a different animation than walking with a sword in off hand.
