Bao-Dur Head Model Neck Fix 1.0

About This File

This is a modder's resource that adjusts the position of Bao-Dur's neck vertices so that they match the standard position of other heads. Bao-Dur's vanilla head will "float" if attached to standard bodies. This adjustment ensures the base of his neck will seat properly with the collars of standard body models, which is a necessity for potential future mods like Bao-Dur specific robes.

worked like a charm for me. the thinner neck leaves a minor gap when equipping heavy armors, but fits perfect on light armors/robes, i prefer it this way (with this fix installed) anyway.

thanks great job

What sort of gap and which body models? The neck position should match that of the player heads, so any gap should be the same as a player wearing the same gear.

with this medium armor on him, and it was medium not heavy armor.

couldn't equip heavy armors on BaoDur, been awhile since i played this regularly so i dont recall why Bao can't get the Heavy Armor Proficiency feat on my end. Not even at level 25 ...

thanks

Yes, you will see that on his vanilla armours. This mod is not intended for use with those. It's intended for use with a mod that allows him to wear all the regular gear everyone else uses.

ah ok. you mean with basic clothing then, miner outfit included, i.e.?

jedi robes too if a/that mod allows that?

Like the description says, this mod changes the position of his neck verts to the same as other heads. This head will mate to regular bodies the same as any other head. His vanilla bodies are designed for the vanilla short fat neck, so they don't look right with this head.

What causes the robes to get the item property "Cannot equip: Bao-Dur"? Is it purely "User Limitation: Human"?

I think it's tied to his unique sub-species, Zabrak. It seems to be implemented separately from the Wookiee sub-species restriction. The Human limitation is only to distinguish between droids and everything else I think.

I thought so too, just droids and the rest. Do you think it's something that can't be changed by modding things? Hard coded?

Today someone on Steam asked about Bao-Dur being able to wear anything and I remembered you making this, sparked my interest, also because I know there's a long history of people wanting just that. It's a great resource but I'm not sure how to tackle that restriction, without it we could just convert Bao-Dur's full body model appearance into a body+head one. I'm pretty sure we have to forget about his electro arm unless someone manages to separate that from the head (not something I'm skilled at).
