A petition to revoke EA's Star Wars license.

It has near 19000 signs. I recommend you all to sign this for the better future of Star Wars video games.

EA is in trouble.

15 November 2017 - 06:33 AM

Battlefront fans are angry, even Yahoo has posted a news about it:

"This has come together to result in an official EA community account - EACommunityTeam - that now has the most downvoted comment in reddit's history. With the comment currently at a score of -294,000 points[It has passed 600K], the Star Wars Battlefront community is now filled with posts negatively responding to the game in a variety of areas. Some of the posts are people - from fans to those claiming to be a part of the games industry - going into what they dislike about the game, while others are making fun of EA and the situation as a whole. Many people are looking to refund the game, following both these criticisms and EA's official responses to them."

"The greatest criticism, one which elicited the response from EACommunityTeam, involved how players must 'unlock' famous characters such as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker to play as them in the multiplayer modes. You can either pay extra to unlock the 'heroes' faster, or unlock them via in-game credits earned via a vast time commitment.

The cost of Vader, for instance, originally ran players 60,000 in-game credits. Under the alterations, he will now cost 15,000 credits. Though when players are earning just a few hundred in each match, it will still demand a considerable time input. The heroes are stronger than the regular soldiers, and must also be earned for a limited time each game."

Any chance to make the final level of the game less boring ?

10 November 2017 - 03:25 PM

In Malachor V, Sith academy was too boring for me(Before fighting Darth Sion and the final duel) because:

1.There were too many enemy encounters compare to previous levels of the game even though that you are alone in there.

2.No computers to sabotage the enemies with.

3.2 different paths weren't really different with each other.(Other than in one of them you can rescue the party members)

4.No fixable droids to help you fighting the enemies.

Am I the only one that bored in that part ? Or I am missing something in there ?

EA shuts down Visceral. Their Star Wars game to be revamped.

17 October 2017 - 09:40 PM

Electronic Arts has announced that it is closing the doors of Visceral Games, the studio best known for the Dead Space series.  The developer had been working on a new Star Wars game, which will now shift directions and move to a different EA team.

"Our Visceral studio has been developing an action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe," said Patrick Soderlund, executive VP of EA worldwide studios, in a post on EA's website. "In its current form, it was shaping up to be a story-based, linear adventure game. Throughout the development process, we have been testing the game concept with players, listening to the feedback about what and how they want to play, and closely tracking fundamental shifts in the marketplace. It has become clear that to deliver an experience that players will want to come back to and enjoy for a long time to come, we needed to pivot the design."
The untitled project will now be developed by EA Vancouver, which had already been working on the game. Soderlund says it will "maintain the stunning visuals, authenticity in the Star Wars universe, and focus on bringing a Star Wars story to life. Importantly, we are shifting the game to be a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency, leaning into the capabilities of our Frostbite engine and re-imagining central elements of the game to give players a Star Wars adventure of greater depth and breadth to explore."

I really felt that this game is in trouble when EA didn't show anything about it this year.
It's funny that EA has the Star Wars license for 4 years and we still haven't got a Single Player Game. Disney shouldn't have shut down LucasArts.
