#62904 TSLRCM 1.8.6 - A "what if" thread

Posted by dg1995 on 12 February 2018 - 09:15 PM

Imo,Train the Handmaiden deserves to be added to TSLRCM because it doesn't really feel right that Exile can't teach her any lightsaber forms unlike other party members.

Being able to teach her the lightsaber forms helps her to have an easier time against other handmaidens at least.(Even if teaching forms to others isn't that useful)

Well, this proves that EA shouldn't have tied the progression to loot boxes. Does anyone know any mods that would be helpful to Battlefront II (2005)?

There is also Battlefront 3 legacy mod that adds 3 ground to space map.(Crouscant,Cato naimoda and Bespin)

EAFront 2 failed in the UK:

From Gamespot:

Battlefront II's UK physical sales were down 61% compared to the 2015 series reboot, Star Wars Battlefront. Some of that shortfall would have been recovered in increasing digital sales, but it's unlikely enough units would have been sold over PSN, Xbox Live, and Origin to make up that gulf.

All i've ever wanted was what the original battlefront 3 was supposed to be. Sadly, I will never get that game. So I'll stick to the original BattleFront 2. At least thats fun.

You can try this mod.(This isn't complete but it's awesome)

I love how EA just keeps continuously messing things up... I'm waiting for the day I hear that they finally shut down, but that'll probably never happen.

Unfortunately that won't happen since their FIFA franchise saves them. But I'm pretty sure that soon they will give up making games in other genres other than sport and mobile games.

Nothing will come of it unless the game is boycotted heavily, and that won't happen because some idiots buy anything with Star Wars slapped on it.

But it's already giving it a bad press. I'm pretty sure that it won't become as successful as the 2015 one.

Out of curiosity, when did Electronic Arts begin its less savory business practices?

Well they actually begin it in mid/late 90s when they ruined the Ultima franchise.(I think the last Ultima game was too buggy that it shut down the original developer of that franchise)

Interesting. I remember hearing something about a "combat upgrade" that supposedly ruined it, but that's all I know.

Well, I myself didn't play Galaxies. but from some fans in the forums I have heard that originally Star Wars Galaxies was a sandbox mmo game where you have the choice to choose between more than 20 professions(For example bounty hunter, dancer, farmer, doctor, weapon merchant etc) which people loved in it.

For that combat upgrade I don't know what it did but no one really liked that update.

Wow(World of warcraft) released in 2004(which was a theme park mmo game) and managed to dominate every mmo game. Then Lucasarts decided to add a new update with the name of NGE(New game enhancement) to turn it into a wow clone. Unfortunately that NGE update ruined that game for original fans.

By the way if you want to play Galaxies there is a dedicated community that are making pre cu(Combat Upgrade) servers for it. You just need to get a copy of that game from somewhere:

By the way why do you guys hate Force Unleashed that much ? It was a promising franchise that could become great with the second game.(Some franchises need a sequel to hit home run like Tekken which the first game wasn't that great)

Unfortunately it failed at that due to this fact that the second game was rushed.(Only one year development time)

A lot of great games came out of that era. Lucasarts in particular had some great Star Wars games- the KOTOR series, the original Battlefront 1 and 2, Republic Commando, Rogue Squadron 2 and 3- were fantastic. Then things started to slow down for Lucasarts.

Yep. Thanks to the awful management that cancelled Kotor 3,Ruined LA's relationship with Pandemic(which was the main reason that LA outsourced battlefront 3 to FRD), Ruined Galaxies and etc.

#60319 Any Chance to Fix These "Plot Holes" in the next versions of TSLRCM?

Have you heard of the Extended Enclave mod? There's a nice cutscene on the Ebon Hawk that ties up that loose end nicely. In the video below, this part is at the 6:30 mark.

Wow. That's a good mod. Thanks. Why TSLRCM team didn't add it in their mod?

"Pretty bad" is a kind description. They removed Hideo Kojima's name from the cover of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, made their employees work in intolerable conditions, and turned Metal Gear into a generic zombie game.

Despite being out of topic, I think that despite what the Internet believed, Kojima himself removed his name from the cover. If Konami wanted to actually remove his name, they wouldn't have allowed him to bring his name in the game more than 100 times in the credits. (They would have also removed his character model completely)
I think he wasn't satisfied with the Free Roam part hence is why he didn't bring up his name anytime players go into Free Roam mode. (Which was the weakness of the game Imo)

But who?

My vote would be CDPROJEKT but then we'd never see Cyberpunk 2077.

IMO, Disney Should instead revive Lucasarts. AAA game costs are too High that most of the publishers prefer to make their own IPs. (Like GTA, Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc) than to make Star Wars games where Disney might get a share of the sales.
And If Disney revives Lucasarts, it's better that they focus on making games with lower budget (AA) than making heavy expensive games that force the Developers to add Microtransactions and DLCs to their Games.

More details of why Visceral was closed:
1. Visceral lacked the man power and couldn't hire more staff.
2. Amy Hennig didn't trust the Visceral Staff.
3. Half of the Visceral were busy with Battlefield Hardline and it's DLCs.
4. Jade Reymond's studio(Motive) was supposed to help Visceral, but EA put them on Battlefront 2 Campaign instead.
5. Making a 3rd person game by Frostbite Engine was pretty hard.
This part was pretty painful:
“She (Amy Hennig) was giving these massive presentations on the story, themes,” said one person who worked on Ragtag. “EA executives are like, ‘FIFA Ultimate Team makes a billion dollars a year.’ Where’s your version of that?”

#59789 EA shuts down Visceral. Their Star Wars game to be revamped.

Posted by dg1995 on 17 October 2017 - 09:40 PM

Electronic Arts has announced that it is closing the doors of Visceral Games, the studio best known for the Dead Space series.  The developer had been working on a new Star Wars game, which will now shift directions and move to a different EA team.

"Our Visceral studio has been developing an action-adventure title set in the Star Wars universe," said Patrick Soderlund, executive VP of EA worldwide studios, in a post on EA's website. "In its current form, it was shaping up to be a story-based, linear adventure game. Throughout the development process, we have been testing the game concept with players, listening to the feedback about what and how they want to play, and closely tracking fundamental shifts in the marketplace. It has become clear that to deliver an experience that players will want to come back to and enjoy for a long time to come, we needed to pivot the design."
The untitled project will now be developed by EA Vancouver, which had already been working on the game. Soderlund says it will "maintain the stunning visuals, authenticity in the Star Wars universe, and focus on bringing a Star Wars story to life. Importantly, we are shifting the game to be a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency, leaning into the capabilities of our Frostbite engine and re-imagining central elements of the game to give players a Star Wars adventure of greater depth and breadth to explore."

I really felt that this game is in trouble when EA didn't show anything about it this year.
It's funny that EA has the Star Wars license for 4 years and we still haven't got a Single Player Game. Disney shouldn't have shut down LucasArts.

#59631 Star Wars Battlefront II (Battlefront 2017 threads merged)

Posted by dg1995 on 08 October 2017 - 07:51 PM

Unfortunately this game isn't similar to the Original Battlefronts.

It Lacks CPs(Command Posts) and this makes it linear.

It doesn't allow you to enter/Exit vehicles on Map.

And Finally It has Microtransactions for Powerups which means that some guys who buy them will have more Powerful Weapons than Other Players.(It doesn't have the Awesome Powerup System of Battlefront 2)
