In Topic: Bugs and minor inconveniences with TSLRCM 1.8.5

04 August 2017 - 05:38 PM

1) When did the problem begin to occur?
During my latest playthrough, though I haven't played the game in quite a while.
2) Did you install the latest version of the mod?
3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version?
Aspyr's updated version.
4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region?
5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?
I performed a fresh installation.
8) What other mods did you have installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.)
TSL Backdrop Improvements 1.3 (I'm using a previous version in my playthrough)
9) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?
I'm doing a DS playthrough and I picked Atton to lead the party into Freedon Nadd's tomb. Even though I make him give into the Dark Side in both Dark Side energy spots, his alignment goes in the opposite direction. This also happens during the conversation with the Sith performing the ritual.
10) Have you tried re-downloading the mod?
11) Have you tried using a different save game?
12) Have you tried starting a new game?
13) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.)
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

In Topic: Fog and Speed Blur Fix for the 2016 TSL patch

I don't know. From looking at my shaders, it seems like I did add it there and I haven't noticed any issues with it. But I haven't played much of the game since I wrote this, so it's very possible that I simply missed the issue.

It's up to you I guess, but from the original instructions it's stated that it has to be added only for files that contain "MOV result.color, r0" so leaving it unedited is probably the right call.

Alright, I'll leave it unedited then. Thanks!

Great tutorial! One question though - one of the files starting with "fp" has a line "MOV result.color.rgb, r0" instead of "MOV result.color, r0". Should I paste the necessary lines above "MOV result.color.rgb, r0" like this or simply leave the file unedited?

Updated the mod to version 1.1:

The only "new" thing is the reactivation of fog in the Ravager levels.

This was possible due to bead-v's discovery of which byte enables/disables fog rendering on a model. For some more details: Fog in the KotOR games is a one color overlay with increasing opacity in the distance. Now if fog was rendered on a skybox or star backdrop, that backdrop would obviously disappear behind this solid color, which is why there had to be something in the model telling the game whether it receives fog or not. But until yesterday, I didn't know what so the only way to make my added backdrop models not appear as flat grey on the Ravager was to disable the fog entirely. But with bead-v's discovery I could now re-enable the fog while keeping my backdrop models normally visible.

The screenshot shows the view from the Ravager in v1.0 as well as in v1.1. As you can see, there is now a grey overlay on the Ravagers structure while the backdrop is completely visible. On the right, you see what happens when fog is enabled in v1.0... which is obviously not great.

And here's a screenshot from inside the Ravager that shows the improved atmosphere with fog re-enabled.

Would this mod cause a conflict if i were to install the fog and speed blur fix for Aspyr's version of KOTOR II?
