#61195 GenoHaradan Legacy

On a more random note, will there be a mod update every time there's a new piece of content added into the mod?

The Telos Surface Assassin's I believe are made up by modders just for the sake of restoring those lines. I will actually keep those alien lines for those lines because those alien lines are cut and restoring them in this mod would be a good idea though I can offer you a voice over role for a more important character if you like (It isn't Dessicus)

I figured it wouldn't be Desscicus, as he already has all of his lines recorded.  I'd be interested to see what lines you have available for me if that's okay. Would you be able to send me a script if possible? I will admit that I have a fairly low voice, though.

For the heck of it, I did record a sample of the Genoharaden Disciple that speaks to you in the Telos base, based on the dialogue at the 6:40 mark in the first video mrmann posted.

#60877 EA is in trouble.

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 23 November 2017 - 09:05 AM

Yep. And you even get less credits per match.

It's funny how Star Wars HQ youtube channel tells this news in the way that make you believe that EA has completely fixed the problem.

https://www.youtube....h?v=pcGrChnN-UQ

I used to enjoy watching Star Wars HQ, but eventually you can tell that they're willing to believe in the BS that EA  puts out in their press releases and that turned me off.

Nothing will come of it unless the game is boycotted heavily, and that won't happen because some idiots buy anything with Star Wars slapped on it.

They're fine. EA has already made a ton of revenue from this game, and so long as they're publishing big titles and milking FIFA, they're completely ok. There's always going to be enough people with enough cash to blow to keep making microtransactions profitable.

Both of those statements are correct. There's somehow enough people willing to buy extra stuff through microtransactions. It's also worth noting that EA is currently the only game studio making Star Wars games at the moment, and I'm sure that there are people desperate enough to play a new Star Wars game.

1.4 has been released with the Duro modification.

Cool! Looking forward to playing with the demo in the next few days.

A quick question- on the mod demo download page, the uninstallation line says the following: uninstallation: N/A. How will the full mod or future demo releases work if you can't uninstall the current demo?

#60613 Any chance to make the final level of the game less boring ?

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 11 November 2017 - 04:50 AM

Tell me about it. I've played the Xbox version for years, so I've more than experienced that awful ending.

Thankfully with TSLRCM, we now get the epic Atton vs Sion fight.

I only got to play the xbox version once, and even then, it was a very buggy and glitchy experience. I'm surprised I even got to the ending, especially with the Nar Shaaddaa invitation bugs.

With TSLRCM, we at least get some level of closure with the team. And there is the great line "Need any company? I mean, I'm not doing anything" as you and Atton walk out of the Trayus core.

I agree, though the ending is improved with TSLRCM. Because now at least our party members are around.

Yes, as opposed to the party vanishing completely at the start of Malachor like they did in the vanilla game. That was just brutal. All that character building and exposition- completely gone at the end of the original version of TSL.

#60602 TSL - Lightsabers to the new jedi

You can use KotOR Tool to both write/edit the .nss files and compile to .ncs files. I've not used Blue's tool and the Toolset Beta is really not ready for that. I've been working on the Toolset when I can, though college eats into that a lot... :(

No problem on the toolset beta, you've already made a lot of progress. Anyone who's been in college can remember busy times during their terms. If using KOTOR tool, do I use the ERF builder to write the script? Every time I double click the a_makeajedi line, there's a dialogue box that says "error launching nwnnsscomp Is it installed in the same directory as the program?"

You can write a .nss file in any simple text editor. I have always used regular old Notepad since it comes free with Windows and is an easy default program.

Notepad ++ is another good option.

Seriously, that's all that's needed? How do I make the file an .nss file then? Notepad++ has an encoding bar, but there's no .nss option. I can copy and paste the script that Fairstrides posted above and edit it accordingly, and then drop it in the override folder, right?

#60592 Any chance to make the final level of the game less boring ?

In Malachor V, Sith academy was too boring for me(Before fighting Darth Sion and the final duel) because:

1.There were too many enemy encounters compare to previous levels of the game even though that you are alone in there.

2.No computers to sabotage the enemies with.

3.2 different paths weren't really different with each other.(Other than in one of them you can rescue the party members)

4.No fixable droids to help you fighting the enemies.

Am I the only one that bored in that part ? Or I am missing something in there ?

It kind of reminded me of the Star Forge ending in K1- fight waves of enemies to get to the final boss. However, for a dialogue heavy game like TSL, I don't think the last levels on Malachor worked out as well. Then again, there was the rushed deadline.

I sure hope that it's got something to do with storylines 4,000 years before the movie storylines :)

#60546 EA shuts down Visceral. Their Star Wars game to be revamped.

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 09 November 2017 - 03:30 PM

Yep. Thanks to the awful management that cancelled Kotor 3,Ruined LA's relationship with Pandemic(which was the main reason that LA outsourced battlefront 3 to FRD), Ruined Galaxies and etc.

And we all know how well Free Radical's poor  management and incompetence dug Battlefront 3 into an early grave.

Yes, and they started giving us "wonderful" games like The Force Unleashed 1/2 and Star Wars Kinect.

And like the other poster said, they cancelled KOTOR 3 and guaranteed we would never get a real Battlefront 3.

Not to mention, they canceled Republic Commando 2 as well.

Never played Galaxies sadly, but I know enough to know what went down.

Yeah, the Force Unleashed 1/2 was one of the first events where things started going downhill for Lucasarts. I think the point I was trying to make earlier was that the mid-2000's Lucasarts games were great.

But yeah, considering they cancelled KOTOR3, Republic Commando 2 and the original Battlefront 3, they royally screwed themselves over. As you said, the players got crappy games like TFU and Kinect. KOTOR3 actually existed in pre-production at Obsidian for a time before it got pulled, as the article states below.

http://www.eurogamer...o-the-dark-side

Never got to play Galaxies either, but there's a guy on Youtube who explored most of the planets' surfaces before the wipe occurred. Needless to say it looked interesting.

I agree. The PS2/Xbox/GC era was a very special time that is sadly is over.

A lot of great games came out of that era. Lucasarts in particular had some great Star Wars games- the KOTOR series, the original Battlefront 1 and 2, Republic Commando, Rogue Squadron 2 and 3- were fantastic. Then things started to slow down for Lucasarts.

#60537 M4-78: The History of Droid World

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 09 November 2017 - 05:40 AM

I was watching one of your mod highlight videos yesterday, and the latest M4-78 video appeared in the suggestions column. Very glad I clicked on the link. I'm also very impressed on how well you've dove into the history of this subject. Beforehand, I thought the only M4 mod that came out before the current M4 EP mod was Stoney's older mod. Didn't know that there were other iterations of the dorid world, like DarthShan's mod.

#60470 How do I change the feats used by NPCs?

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 06 November 2017 - 04:38 AM

Since you are a beginner, I suggest you only edit the files with the Kotor Tool (KT) and only edit them once with it, if you want to re-edit the file, then you should just open the vanilla file from KT again and change it again.

This isn't too hard to do, but it's a bit tedious and may cause mod incompatibilities if a mod uses that same utc file.

I'd also recommend typing or writing a list of changes so you don't forget what you end up changing.  Here's a helpful article that I helped me get started.

#60322 Any Chance to Fix These "Plot Holes" in the next versions of TSLRCM?

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 01 November 2017 - 07:06 PM

Guess we have to wait until we get that answer. it seems like that the developers have decided to abandon the internet completely for few months.(Which they deserve it imo)

Do you mean the TSLRCM crew? If so, then yes they really do deserve and need a break. Especially when one considers the amount of work and time they put into this project. After all, this project has been going on since the late 2000's.
