#59719 Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 12 October 2017 - 03:50 AM

Rogue One was banal and felt dull.

TFA was unoriginal but it was fun, had interesting moments and good new characters.

TLJ needs to blow the door off the building and shatter all the windows if it wants me on-board with these new films.

As for my own opinions, I enjoyed TFA during its release in theaters. But by the time the hype died down, I felt that TFA was literally just ANH 2.0 and obviously was disappointed.  I really was hoping for something new.

Rogue One was a predictable film for obvious reasons, but I personally felt that the filmmakers really brought that 70's feeling back to Star Wars, which was a good thing. You can see those influences from the hair styles and mustaches, to the little cameos and easter eggs and even down to the 70's Vietnam-era surplus gear on the Rebel commandos' costumes.  I also really liked how the filmmakers made the battle at Scariff a Pyrrhic victory for the rebels- All the main characters die,  most of the Rebel Fleet gets blown to hell and Vader nearly captures the plans in that hallway.

But I understand why people are worried about TLJ. I too hope that it's not another rehash of ESB, but the shots of the new walkers on a white plain, and the Millennium Falcon flying through what looked like an asteroid tunnel are making me very skeptical that this film won't be ESB 2.0. However, it seems Luke has serious doubts about the Jedi as an organization, much like Kreia did. That gives me a little hope :D

#59718 Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

JJ Abrams screwed things up. He should have used Timothy Zahn's Thrawn series of books for reference for the new trilogy. I would love to see the mad Jedi Joruus C' Baoth in the movies.

When I first heard that there was going to be a new Star Wars trilogy several years back, I immediately thought that Heir to the Empire, along with the rest of the Thrawn trilogy were going the new films. I thought such an idea was perfect- take a classic EU novel and put it to film. Make the older generations happy and introduce the younger generation to a book series that kicked off the EU. Sadly, that obviously never happened.

#59709 Bugs and minor inconveniences with TSLRCM 1.8.5

1) When did the problem begin to occur?

When I Turned Handmaiden into a Jedi, I Can't teach her the Lightsaber forms(Some Force Powers) Like Visas.

I was always curious why the player couldn't teach the forms to Handmaiden. Teaching the forms works perfectly fine for Visas, Atton, Mira and Bao-Dur. Did the Handmaiden not have voice-overs for that type of conversation?

Seeing as it's only one MP3 file, this seems like this would be a ridiculous thing to upload as a mod so I'll just leave the line here.  No credit needed if anyone wants to use this in one of their mods.

Either way, do you think that this G0-T0 dialogue fix will get thrown into TSLRCM at some point? Maybe the 1.8.6 version?

#59528 Bao Dur's Sacrifice Idea

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 29 September 2017 - 10:19 PM

I like this idea a lot and maybe it can work out. In my mind, I always envisioned Bao-Dur having a last stand moment trying to help HK-47 get into the factory. During the battle of Telos, Grenn says that he saw Bao-Dur disembark with you and Atton adds that HK-47 is also missing. Then those two take a shuttle and fly down to Telo's surface. Basically, Bao-Dur would hold off wave after wave of HK-50s or security droids after getting HK-47 inside the factory and eventually he would get killed. By having this sort of action sequence, that cuts down on some of the dialogue needed, right?

#52545 What classes are the Jedi Masters and Sith Lords in TSL?

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 23 January 2017 - 04:31 AM

I'm curious if anyone has ever found out what in-game classes the Jedi Masters  and Sith Lords were in KOTOR 2. The game only explicitly states that Kavar is a Jedi Guardian. Atris is a historian and Archivist, so I imagine that she is a Consular. As for the others, I'm not really sure what Vrook (although I'm guessing Consular for him), Vash, Zez-Kai Ell, Sion and Nihlus are in terms of classes. Has anyone looked at the game data and found out?

#52501 What's Restored In K1R

There's a mod for this.

http://deadlystream....nd-flight-suit/

I recommend it. (:

I remember seeing that, although I forgot what the mod title was. Thanks for posting that!

I also had a few other ideas/recommendations-

1) Is it possible to highlight the class skills of the various classes in yellow text, kind of similar to KOTOR2?
2) Can there be a feat progression swap between HK-47 and T3 like in TSLRCM? Poor HK barely got any feats while T3 got a ridiculous amount.
3) Shouldn't the Sentinel have repair, computer use, stealth and demolitions instead of the consular, (as Sentinels have more 'worldy' non-force related technical skills) ? Or is there a way to integrate the mod below into the K1R mod?

#52480 Bugs and minor inconveniences with TSLRCM 1.8.5

Posted by Mellowtron11 on 22 January 2017 - 04:47 AM

Hello all. I know this thread applies only to the 1.8.5 version of the mod, but I somehow got the original CD version of KOTOR 2 working on my Windows 10 laptop. Since I got it working in that fashion, I've been rather hesitant to uninstall the 1.8.4 version. Anyway, I played through TSLRCM 1.8.4 and noticed a few errors here and there in both text and NPC stats (force and health points with the proper modifiers and levels for these NPCs. Nothing is related to bugs or glitches (except the last couple of list items); they're mostly just inconsistencies. Here's a list of things that I noticed were a little off in the 1.8.4 version.

· Visas’ proper level 6 stats should be 54 HP and 42 FP
· Kreia’s proper level 3 stats should be 27 HP and 73 FP (FP added with force sensitive feat and her wisdom modifier)
· G0-T0’s level 6 HP stats should be at 54 HP
· Hanharr's level 4 stats should be at 60 HP
· T3 should have 24 HP at level 3
· HK-47’s level 6 stats ought to be 66 HP
· As a scout, Mira should have the flurry feat and medium armor feat (at least according to KOTOR1's base classes)
· There were some subtitle typos with Nallek, the Dantooine mercenary who you can Force persuade to give you his weapon and money. His fixed lines during said persuasion attempt should read, “Here. Here is my gun.”, and “I-I can’t”.
· Nallek also has a mismatched subtitle while talking about the mercenaries and the settlers to the Exile. The fixed line should read, “So I figured blasting one of them would do me some good”.
· In the torture explanation part of the HK factory, the word ‘perspiration’ in the subtitle is cut short. The line should read as “Check his temperature and perspiration-”
· Thon’s robe has the Force Immunity: Stun feat listed in the item description, but the feat doesn’t appear in the player’s feat list when the robe is equipped
· The third rank of the conditioning feat is not available to Jedi weapon masters
· Carth should have a republic naval officer uniform instead of the bonadan armor he’s usually wearing (minus the silly looking cap)
· Maybe remove PC’s teaching of Affect/ dominate mind to companions; there’s no chance for your NPCs to use that ability in-game
· When the Exile helps Canderous retrieve the two Mandolorian clans, there should be a small XP reward (e.g. 500 XP) for quest completion, and there should be a quest in the journal (e.g. Reunite the Mandolorian Clans)
· The Soresu description in the lower left hand action menu should read “ +blast deflection, -critical threat range”, not “ +blast deflection, –multiple enemies”
· If the player doesn’t pick the weapon master/marauder class, the lightsaber specialization feat is still automatically learned by the 3rd or 4th level of their prestige class. Is the specialization feat a reward from sparring with Visas? (I think this has been fixed in 1.8.5 version)
· Switch the HP amounts for Kavar and Talia- Kavar is too squishy and Talia is very tough
· Companion lightside/darkside bonuses are not given, despite the stat description on their character screen. The LS/DS bonus does work for the Exile, but that’s it
· During the Exile’s sentencing video, if the player has chosen the single bladed viridian lightsaber, the blade is active and lit during both the exile’s walk- in and during the player’s first dialogue choice

I hope this doesn't seem too nit-picky.Thanks again! And great work to all of the TSLRCM mod group. Thanks again for making the game playable and complete!

One other little thing: The defense bonus from Jedi sense and Scoundrel's Luck is applied earlier (at levels 1, 5, 11, 17, 23 and 29) and not every sixth level as the description says. More info in the links below. http://strategywiki....undrel.27s_Luck http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_II:_The_Sith_Lords/Feats#Sense

Another small text and dialogue fix. It occurs after the Darth Nihlus duel, and if Revan was set to dark side male. When Visas and Mandalore are discussing Revan's fate, Visas has a incorrect dialogue text line that reads- "And that is what burns in your heart. Why Clan Ordo was reborn. To prove Revan wrong."

The proper text line should read, "And that is what burns in your heart. And that is why Clan Ordo was reborn. To prove Revan wrong."
