I like this idea quite a bit. I do think that this complicates things needlessly. As well, Bao-Dur's arc centers around the Mass Shadow Generator. I think it would just feel weird to have him die anywhere else but in finishing what he started.

I think dying protecting Telos is more fitting for lightside Bao-Dur, where as DS Bao-Dur should lose his humanity I think.
I've always thought that the DS Bao-Dur appearance developing Darth Maul Tattoos at random was infantile.

It would be better if either way Bao-Dur "dies" that on LS he's content with dying saving rather than destroying a world.

Whilst "Clone Wars style" if he's DS he survives to become an abomination which would be an extension of the losing the humanity that cost him his arm.

He could be a silent mini-boss for the Exile in this way on Malachor too.
One will make the choice- all will make the journey.

Something like cybernetic nightmare Starkiller.

I like this idea a lot and maybe it can work out. In my mind, I always envisioned Bao-Dur having a last stand moment trying to help HK-47 get into the factory. During the battle of Telos, Grenn says that he saw Bao-Dur disembark with you and Atton adds that HK-47 is also missing. Then those two take a shuttle and fly down to Telo's surface. Basically, Bao-Dur would hold off wave after wave of HK-50s or security droids after getting HK-47 inside the factory and eventually he would get killed. By having this sort of action sequence, that cuts down on some of the dialogue needed, right?

Continuing  from my previous post, maybe have the player switch over to solo Bao-Dur to have him fight off waves of enemies until he gets overwhelmed and dies. Maybe something similar to the Object Rho's Fight for your Life sequence from Mass Effect 2's Arrival DLC where the enemies get progressively harder.

I've updated one of my blog entries with how one of my proposals would at least sound like.  Check it out if you're interested.

As subtle as a brick through a window.

I Didn't read the possibilities(I don't want to spoil it). But I agree that Bao-Dur really needs a Good Closure. He Just Disappeared in Malachor V without any Explanations.

The blog entries were all interesting!

I guess I like the second one best; the first is a nice use of existing VO but having Bao-Dur taken down by machines seems opposite character somehow.

Now, if it was a bunch of turrets, and the turrets ignored HK because it was not natural life form... Then I might like it a bit more. But that situation needs a convincing setup, a trap of some sort I dunno. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I personally like the first entry the best, at least in terms of the audio splicing. I say that with a bit of bias because I always envisioned HK and Bao Dur fighting alongside together on Telos, rather than on Citadel station.

I do agree with Qui-Gon Glenn's hesitation here on the idea of having Bao-Dur get killed by a turret. That idea might need some reworking or more setup. Maybe have a roomful of turrets that take out Bao-Dur, not a singular turret. That would be embarrassing for Bao-Dur and might be a bit anti-climatic.

An alternative to turrets could be a pretty easy thing to achieve. My first thought is that Bao Dur becomes trapped either by having emergency doors close around him while he's busy working on something and being thusly shot, or by simply being surrounded by enemies where HK would say something like "Situation Untenable" to reflect how he's still a machine and Bao makes his peace as he's gunned down. (man this is such a downer... :) )

These next two options might seem a bit of a stretch, but Bao-Dur could get poisoned by a strong type of gas, considering that there's a ton of gas traps in the Telos Military base and the HK factory. Or have some Sith follow HK and Bao down to the Military base landing pad and have a fight outside the base. But yeah, this is such a grim topic... :)

He should die by saving HK IMO, somehow.
Maybe overloading the current on his arm to destroy an immense amount of HK-50's.

I was considering poison gas, but I wanted to avoid confusing the audience as to how lethal it was and forcing a character to act 'out of character' by blurting out what it was. (Similar to Qui Gon's "dioxyn" statement in TPM: basically, if he could tell what it was by smelling/breathing it, then how was he not dying from it? More to the point, what good would it do for Bao if HK tells him what is already killing him?)

Yeah I know that wasn't the strongest suggestion, but I figured it was worth a shot to mention.

I like this idea, considering that Bao-Dur's artificial arm is one of his defining features.  And I'm sure he could just overload the power generator in his arm to make it explode. He's a tech expert so he could find a way.
