Contact T7Nowhere

Recommended Posts

Hey, does anyone knows how i could contact T7Nowhere about getting permission to use elements from one of his mods?

I couldn't find any way to contact him, i did find he has a steam account, but i don't really have a steam account, nor could i contact him before spending money on the account, so anyone out there still in contact with him, or something? :0

I have steam! It's actually free to create a account, if you want buy games, then you have to spend money!

He meant that he wouldn't be able to contact him because he never purchased something on steam. Steam accounts don't have full features available until you spend $5.

That's odd, in the time i created my steam account that wasn't the case...

Well, i can offer you something for free: I am your contact man for T7Nowhere, but PM me about that...

What kind of mod we talking about? What type of way elements? I'm sure if you credit T7 in your Readme and recognize his contribution, you'll be fine.

Nope, that's against the site rules:

All content on Deadlystream must be uploaded by the original creator/owners of the content. Uploading content that is owned by someone else is strictly prohibited, unless explicit permission can be demonstrated by the uploader. If you are found to upload content that is owned by another person without explicit evidence of permission, the first offense will result in a warning via PM and removal of said content. Any additional infractions will result in a permanent ban.

Screw the rules, sometimes you have to be practical. He's made an honest effort to contact. T7 could be gone, never to hear from again. I tip my hat to his honesty. He could have used the needed elements without anyone else's knowledge. Any reasonable modder would understand and just want to be listed in the credits.

If he could still be contacted through steam it's worth a shot first.

Rules are set and have been debated in the past. They sit. Any further discussion on this matter here will not be tolerated.

Yeah, I agree rules should be abided, and many of the people involved being gone it wouldn't be fair to them to decide arbitrary what to do, but I do think from now on modders could leave instructions in case of dissappearance from the modding community, stuff like:

"Needs to ask permission to use, in case of retirement from modding community and no clear ways to contact free to use as long as credit is given"

"in case of dissappearance, mods might be reuploaded with proper credit given"

Or even "if I dissappear, nothing might be done with my mods, and if current hosting sites go down my mods are to go down into oblivion" if that's what's wished.

I also think the download page could include an "open source category" where people could post stuff they don't mind others using, or like Silveredge stuff that he expressed anyone could use without asking for permission anymore, etc... Stuff from retired modders who give permission to use their stuff freely could be labelled into the category later, "modders ressources" posted long ago somewhere else and forgotten could be posted there too, since they were intended to be shared.

It's not because we respect the rules of "modders copyright" that we shouldn't allow a space for open sourced mods and ressources which I feel are almost like a taboo (like fair strides stating he don't know if he can share old Quanon "big sale" files, etc...[even if him being active here it would still be nice to consult with him for politeness sake]) Not saying it's something bad, but some people really just want to share what they create and we shouldn't be afraid of sharing stuff that the author intended as a shareable file for everyone to use freely, and I feel there isn't much space for it here, probably by fear of people abusing it, but that's why I'd suggest a common place where it can be validated which files are "open source".

"Screw the rules" is never a polite phrase on a site that has rules, at least not if you want to rely on the rules yourself in the future...

And we can't speak for someone who isn't here, much less presume how they'd feel about their content. As far as making an effort, Seikan knows of a way to contact him and can always have someone act as the middle-man to do so. He hasn't done this yet, so one could say the attempt hasn't been made/executed yet.

@Seikan: I don't mean that in a negative way. Purely looking at it objectively/semantically.

Which mod is it? The read me for his Wotor mod says this:

"You are not allowed to use any of this mods resources in other released mods without express written consent of the WotOR modding team."

Shem, Svosh and Mono_Giganto also worked on the project, T7s been gone longer than the others I do believe.

Edit: I assume it's for Wotor.

Someone contact T7Nowhere through Steam and point him towards this thread. Let's table this discussion until T7 is here to discuss it personally.

No offense taken, I understand perfectly and agree on the stance of the site regarding the rules on this issue no matter how inconvenient they can be at times.

CrashBandiTeam will relay my message to T7 by steam, and djh269 just pmed me an email that might or might not work to contact him that i'll use in case CrashBandi can't reach him (since i already asked him to do so).

It is indeed about Wotor, and did read the read-me (though 99% of the mods would state something similar so i'd have proceeded the same way if i hadn't read it) T7nowhere is still the main modder and in particular the one behind the files I want to use, Shem was a tester, proof reader etc, and Svosh and Mono_giganto only contributed a couple files so it wouldn't be very appropriate asking them instead of T7, but anyways, he'll be contacted soon, and this will be resolved, so there isn't need for this much controversy, either he agrees or he doesn't, there's not much more to it.

So you can thank jc2 and CrashBandiTeam for getting my attention. I give full permission to use the Revan Masks in your mod. I can't do the same for for svösh or Mono_Giganto's Work.

I am amazed that KotOR Modding is still alive and I really appreciate the respect and effort made to contact me. I've been away for a long time it means alot to see people still care so much.

Any chance you would like to upload your work here, T7?

Or better yet! Improve your old work like WOTOR and make a 2.0 version like Seikan did with his Armors of the Old Republic mod and maybe make it 100% compatible with K1R!

(As good as that sounds the odds of a Modder who has been gone for years returning to improve his old work to today's standards is highly unlikely)

I would love to get a hold of the patches for wotor as I cannot find them anymore, only dead links. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm not sure T7nowhere visits this site anymore but if he does if he could send me the files I could upload them so they could be available for all if that's alright. If anyone else has them I'd do about anything for them.

Wow I finally found them. http://www.jumpstationz.com/ModsArchive/T7nowhere/
