I have a cool mod idea but some might say it's not possible.

So I was playing kotor 2 one day when it hit me a free roam mod, what it does is after you beat the last story quest and finish the game it take's you back to the ebon hawk, and you can continue to fly to planet's and finish up any side quest you left unfinished.

To me it was never interesting, because to me game ends with the ending, but it's actually very easy. You must remove the script which shows you the credit movies and warps you into the main menu and replace it with the script warping you to the Ebon Hawk after the escape cutscene. However, it'd make more sense if you place Malachor on the galaxy map, too (it's got coordinates in its .gui file, actually) and display a message that Malachor was destroyed if you chose the light side ending, and if you chose the dark side ending, make a new landing on Malachor movie - possibly spawn the Ebon Hawk on a cliff above the Trayus Academy and block with some rocks the passage to the crashed Ebon Hawk module. What else - you should make the Rebuilt Enclave module unavailable again - rocks or a broken door possibly, yet its "rebuiltness" should stay. Citadel Station should have some damage. Iziz Turmoil has ended, so it should be made that you can travel to Onderon using the Ebon Hawk, possibly replacing the Mandalorian shuttle.

 

In other words - if you want a mod that warps you into the Ebon Hawk - it's really easy. If you want a mod which makes travelling around the galaxy fitting with the storyline, it's really hard.

Your a freaking genius, Better then the way I was going to do it, so I just have to copy the escape warp script and name it the same name as the end game script?

I'm not good at scripting and all my knowledge is purely theoretical, but I guess that yes. But it has to be this Ebon Hawk module that hasn't got Kreia.

It'd be slightly more problematic than that. Kreia being gone is just a modification to the standard old 003ebo

 

It's then the problem of needing to get rid of Bao-Dur and his remote, G0-T0, potentially Atton, I believe also potentially Mira, and potentially Handmaiden or Disciple

 

Come to think of it, potentially everybody but T3 and HK if you decide to kill them at Malachor. There are a lot of variables to take into account

Varsity Puppet was making a mod that did this very thing I believe. He quit the project years ago though iirc.

I believe you are referring to the Malachor VI mod. In short I do believe that was something to add to Malachor V with new content not something that allowed you to free roam at the end of the game.

I attempted to do this way back probably in 2009 or 2010 but I had issues I was never able to resolve with it, IIRC. I would imagine it is possible but it won't be quite as easy as swapping a script with a warp one.

I seem to have memory of the game simply going black regardless of if the end script was there or not. This was a long time ago, and my memory could be wrong.

Bao-Dur's remote has to disappear, but I don't think Bao-Dur himself has to, G0-T0 removal is not necesary if you chose the dark side ending. If you're dark sided, either Disciple or Atton / Handmaiden or Visas has to disappear. Also, you can kill everyone. It would be truly complicated.

Uh, you don't have to worry about companions appearing at all, or edit a module for that to happen. If you remove them from party selection screen they just won't appear, and Kreia is removed on Dantooine by default, then other party members are also removed if they happen to die at Malachor (Atton might be an exception, since he can still appear after losing to Sion).

 

Warping back to 003 would pretty much be all you need to keep playing after Malachor.

I believe you are referring to the Malachor VI mod. In short I do believe that was something to add to Malachor V with new content not something that allowed you to free roam at the end of the game.

One of the features was going to be continuing to be able to play afterwards. The game's ending would be triggered by choosing "unknown regions" on the galaxy map, which is what I believe is similar to what OP has in mind

Yeah sorta, I also had the idea to make re spawning enemies, by the way this is kinda random but why does the Ebon hawk not have a refresher? I'm scared to know where they use the bathroom.

I really adore this whole threads ideas, but adding a bathroom to the Ebon Hawk- while something I never thought about- is a good idea. 

 

Wasn't there an Ebon Hawk basement mod for KOTOR? You could do something similar and have the bathrooms down there.

Toilets cannot exist without the further idea of a bathroom. This means that to wash herself, Bastila had to swim naked in the Manaan sea. I was watching this Giant Friendly Goldfish then. Damn.

 

Kids, when you go swim in the Manaan sea, remember to look at after your sexy female Jedi friends.

This is a perfect situation of when you're playing KotOR instead of learning extinct languages and you cannot understand a neologism using a word "ludo" which means "game" in Latin and Esperanto.

I was thinking about turning the storage room into a small refresher, but that's a better idea.
