What Planet/Area Would You Like to See in KOTOR/TSL?

Any planet or area, legends or canon, that you would like to see in KOTOR or TSL, that you think would be an interesting area to explore.

 

- Post a description of the planet or a screenshot and explain why it would be unique and different from an existing area in either game. Try to refrain from going into detailed plot points.

 

No posting about Cathalan, unless you make a really compelling case, in which case you get bonus points.

For Kotor 1, i'd actually like to see a Yavin 4 revamped version - the mod is good but:

 

1. im not sure if its compatible with K1R and BoSSR.

2. all areas are from vanilla game.

 

Sithspecter i think has done at least some tweaking to existing K1 areas couple years ago, like adding heavy fog or

assigning totally different textures for the Star Forge,

so in short, id like to see the whole Yavin mod ported into a new (or heavily tweaked) module - with the same content, but different visuals.

I'd like to see an orange planet full of orange people who speak in a stilted way using a really limited vocabulary, while making the same two hand gestures. I feel this would be a useful really just tremendous piece of social satire, and would make KotOR great again.

Kotor 1

Bespin - Cloud City. That would be amazing to see, something that mixed the movie version of Cloud City with the SWBF1 version of cloud city.

Like something with Taris/Yavin/star forge module reskin

 

TSL

Or even better yet, Mandalore!

You know the mod idea Canderis had way back, that would be awesome to see. It would have some sort of urban module with a forest/jungle module, even a spaceport. Like a Dxun/Dantooine/Onderon module reskin.

Yeah, that was one of my favorite mods when I was younger. If only we could get a redone version...

I think TSL should have Manaan. All the areas in TSL are indoors, or outdoors, or in space, but have no areas with a healthy amount of water. In fact, if I remember correctly, the only area in TSL that has natural water is the restoration zone and a stream in dantooine

Hoth for K1 (since K2 kind of has the polar region of Telos if you wanna count that).

 

There's just something that kind of interests me about seeing well known Star Wars planets set thousands of years before the time you see them. I like Tatooine and Kashyyyk for that.

 

In Kotor 2 I want Coruscant, partially for the same reasons as Hoth, but also because I feel like it would be very unique. Yeah, K2 has an ecumenopolis already in Nar Shaddaa but I think it would be cool to see Coruscant in the absence of Jedi. And how the Exile would be treated, with wanted posters of them all over the city.

I ought to drop my two cents in here.

 

I'll push Coruscant as my choice for TSL.  In fact, I have pushed this before in this little thread. (I go on a bit in that thread so I leave it up to you, if you wish to read it.)  Some of you might be thing "SH, there's already a mod for Coruscant and it's called Jedi Temple, and it even has an expansion and skybox changes and whatnot?"  That's very true, yet I think there's more that could be done there.  While I'm harping on this, I'll point out my blog post with Coruscant artwork.

 

For K1, I would've suggested Sleheyron but we all know that's a planet in progress by Sithspecter.  As an alternate, it would be nice if the respective mod authors freshened up either the Ord Mantell mod (scroll down ion the linked page to find it) or the Yavin 4 mod for a re-release sounds like a fun idea.

Personally, I would very much like to see Kuat. I'm sure you all are familiar. If not, I shall provide a description and photo to help drive my point home. This planet has been mentioned in a lot of works within the expanded universe and I cannot really express how happy I was when it was made canon. Before I get too off topic, this planet holds major importance for the old Republic. Those orbital shipyards that circle the entire planet. Like artificial rings, here is where the literal bulk of the Galactic Republic's fleet is assembled. It would seem strange that a place like this was not targeted by the Sith. This would be an interesting task to accomplish. I think recycling  Dantooine, Telos and Peragus ll would get the job done. As for the plot it could be the presence of another faction of the Sith Triumvirate aiming to wreak havoc in the core worlds. kuat.jpg

I'd like to see Mandalore or one of Mandalorian habitable moons in K2, I'd think it would make sense for both the exile as well as maybe Canderous and Mira to visit and could fit in with the story well. I also wouldn't mind seeing Nal Hutta in K2

 

As for K1, I'm not really sure which planets I'd also like to see in K1, maybe some planets involved in the Jedi Civil War :/

For me, I would like to see Rhen Var as it is a mostly unexplored part of the Tales stories, yet is the setting for its monumental conclusion

(well, the conclusion of Ulic Qel Droma's story, specifically)

As far as which game, I think TSL's understated mood and gray perceptions of the dark and light sides would complement it best.

 

 

Another possible planet that would probably take forever to make but could have a lot of potential for fun situations would be wherever the Verpine are from. I see verpine rifles and armor all of the time, but they never show up as characters in the actual games.

 

I guess Kotor 1 or 2 would work for this one, but the Exile's journey is basically one of rediscovering ancient battle sites while Revan seems to prefer seeking out new life and civilizations (or technically just civilizations affected by the Jedi civil war), so it would probably fit Kotor 1 more.

That was 300 years later. I was thinking of something more recent..using the dark wars as the "present" for reference. I think Rhen-var would also be a good idea, better actually. Seeing as it is a mod already underway. The grey lore surrounding it fits perfectly with The Sith lords theme.

Yeah, that was one of my favorite mods when I was younger. If only we could get a redone version...

It dont have to take 5 years, right?

What if we take only already finished WIP modules and port all dialogues & encounters from the original Yavin IV mod? 

would that significantly shorten the process?

Wait a sec. What I meant wasn't to create the whole planet from scratch; 

so I'm just curious, does just the porting process with already existing assets from one finished module to another take years?

For KoTOR, I would like to see planets which are mentioned (in-game) but we cannot visit them. Alderaan, for example. It is mentioned on Taris (in the Lower City, just on of the apartments).

KOTOR

It is exactly the kind of ancient place to find a star map, plus the icy, frigid climate is completely different to anything else in the game.

 
KOTOR 2
I have three that I'm split on:

 

Gand

Gand_NEGAS.jpg

 

You hear about it so much from the Gand colony on Nar Shaddaa if you stop to chat with 'em. On top of this, the need to breath can be used to create some interesting situations where you are gated by certain party members being unable to go certain places yet because they aren't Jedi/Sith yet and haven't learned breath control.

 

Uba IV

Its history is very TSL. It thematically fits in very well as a destitute place that hates Jedi and is in desperate need of help - unless you are so inclined to go DS.

My favourite planet from the original game, it would be very nice to see what became of it up close, in-game.
