Now this might seem like an odd thing to post about, but it really bothers me how these two look exactly the same on the forum. Anywhere else, a :D is a :D and not a :) ... but here, for some reason, laughing is forbidden and you may only smile. :P

 

Could this be fixed? :)

The fact that both smileys appear the same in your post, makes this post quite pointless (if it weren't for the title) xD

That's the joke... or problem. :hope:

 

I like using smileys since text doesn't have any sort of pronounciation so a meaning is easily misunderstood.

I admit to having something of an aversion from emojis

 

I tend to put a space so it remains as an uncoded : ), : p, etc.

No, seriously, is there really no way to remove the second definition of : D as :D?
