A plot hole in Kotor 2 that could be easily be fixed with some modding

  1. 1. Should there be a cutscene created to fix this plot hole?

    • Yes, there should be a cutscene to fix this plot hole.

    • No - a cutscene isn't necessary or I don't define this as a plot hole

No problem. :) There are some things in Kotor 2 that just exist for gameplay purposes and can really drag down the otherwise great story. (In my opinion).

I'm always glad when people notice and also have a plan to remedy them.

Well, Atris did leak the existence of the Exile to the Sith, so Atris could have also leaked Vash's presence on Korriban.

@Domino5555 Atris is a very stupid and horrible person and I woudn't put it past her to have done that, but I don't think she did. I think if she had, we would have seen sith on Dantooine and Nar Shada, trying to take out Vrook and Zes Kei Ell( what I think anyway)

Doesn't Vash's datapad say something about Sion? And about how if she keeps her wits about her then she'll surely survive? I thought that was enough to assume Sion went to find her.

@DarthRevan101 I don't exactly remember what the original data pad said because I have M4-78 installed and it says something different. Even if it does,( which as I said, I don't quite remember if it does), it wouldn't explain exactly how he knew she was on Korriban.

Fair enough, but the hologram thing doesn't clear things up totally.

Does Sion keep video cameras in the abandoned academy? Or does he have his Assassins go to every planet to find information about Jedi?

Sion was a student at the academy too, so maybe he went back for personal reasons and by coincidence (the Force) Vash was there too.

Still, I'd like this scene to be included, because he does just turn up seemingly out of the blue.

@DarthRevan101 The scene would be right when you click on Korriban and would show the hologram of Vash. I think that the sith assassin's found her and reported it to Sion. I know SIon said that he was the academy when it fell, but I don't think he's a student. Sion was a sith marauder during the Exar Kun war, so I don't think he'd need training. He could have been a teacher or just someone that was there. I could see it being a personal reason, but I think that's a pretty weak excuse myself. Still, thanks for agreeing with me that you'd like the scene to be there :)

Apart from the fact that he is literally allied with someone whom has a high affinity with the force, he found the exile afterall

@Haveup Are you talking about Nihilus? Nihilus used Visas to find the exile and by the time the Exile gets to Korriban, Visas is off the Ravanger.

His presence does seem unexplained, now that I think about it. On the other hand, it never occurred to me through 7-8 playthroughs before, so I'm not really excited about this. Not a bad idea, though.

It could always be added as a mod separate from TSLRCM which would be best for those not full steam ahead for this idea.

That cutscene of Sion on malachor is already been used in a mod called "Extended Enclave".

If you are planning on fixing this "plot hole", I suggest you do it in a separated mod, away from TSLRCM, since I use EE, it would be odd to me and or anyone else that uses the same mod to see the same cutscene twice in the game.

Keep that in mind.

i think the thing with plot holes is that unless it is huge enough to drive a 747 through, it is kind of a moot point. We live in a world where people have plot holes in their lives every day, where things dont make 100% sense, people do things out of character, and people stretch their reasoning all the time to try and justify or rationalize things. History itself has plot holes and inconsistencies. I encounter inconsistencies every day. As long as the overall story of any tale (game or not) is compelling and driving, im not concerned about most minor plot holes myself. Life itself is messy with many loose ends that not all of them will ever get tied up. So i just enjoy what i can and forget about the things i can do nothing about. Even if i could do something about it, often i ask myself to what purpose? Would it really make a difference or make things better? or is it just a wild fantasy. Is it that critical? Would it necessarily be a good thing to change things i should leave alone? Sometimes the answer is yes and sometimes it is no. That is largely subjective.

If you feel the need to make a mod, then by all means go ahead and do so. That is how most of us started making mods in the first place. But realize that not everyone will like it, and it is more for your own enjoyment than others. If others gain something from it, then that's is icing on the cake, but not always a given.

I really don't see this as a plot hole of any kind. Why would a Sith be at Korriban? Well, why not? Through the SW history powerful Sith have visited Korriban in search of the powerful artifacts or to meditate using dark side nexus there.

Sion does not just sit in one room on Malachor , waiting for some Jedi to show up all the time, he probably has something else to do in life (training in dark side, increasing his power, etc.) . :D  It's not like he needs has to have any plot related issue to go everywhere, but that's specially true for that planet. Maybe he even uses academy ruins as a a base of sorts, and travels there regularly... Not everything in universe is is tied to your character.

And Vash has gone to Korriban to find some clues about Sith attack and found Sion there, who imprisoned and killed her, as she said in her datapad (clearly without M4-78).  No inconsistency whatsoever.

Late response but since Tweak Pack was mentioned here it is. :P

Kind of late response here, but I'm not seeing any plot holes either.

It's like Pavijan357 says, Sith Lords tend to go to Korriban to do Sith Lord stuff.

He finds Vash, kills her (I haven't played M4-78). And, since it's said repeatedly in the game, Jedi attract other Jedi. So Sion lies in wait, knowing there's a good chance that the Exile will show up. Sion also knows that Kreia is likely to have your character tested at Korriban. So it's a near given for Sion that the Exile will come sooner or later. And Sion is going to deal with the Exile on his home ground advantage.

Just my 2 creds.

Plus isn't there a big deal made about how the Sith had been able to track Jedi really well across the galaxy or something? Like how when they all grouped together on Katarr Nihilus immediately was able to find them (not sure if I'm remembering correctly)...

The problem with that is, on Katarr, the Jedi were all gathered and using the Force in a huge number. I don't think one Exile who is still learning to reconnect with the Force would qualify.

Sion didn't need to track the Exile, not after Peragus (he was tracking Kreia at that point). It was the matter of waiting at Korriban, and later at Malachor, knowing the Exile would come.

Nihilus homes in on the Force like an amoeba to light. I don't think he really tracks as much as he homes in on food when it appears. The Sith assassins operate on the same principle. Nihilus had to send out Visas to find the Exile, or whatever was pinging his radar.
