Hi Everybody,

A year ago I was enthusiastically downloading Mods from filefront and now I wonder what happened to it. But after a long search I understand that this page is it's successor?

Sadly not all the Mods from filefront made it here,  but people are still (unbelievably) active to enhance our favourite game though it's more than ten years old by now. I never dreamt of actually playing the games with Mods referring to Episode VII!!!

I'm German and I am always looking for Mods that are compatible with the german version of the game (Sure, I could playthe english version, but I can't recommend Mods to my Non-English speaking friends then). I always wondered why English Mods couldn't show the names of new Items in the German Version and also I don't get the reason why English Dialoges modded in just don't show up in the German Game. Anybody can enlighten me?

Happy to join you guys now and give a big thanks to the Mod-Artists whose work I enjoy so much. Thanks to you all at this point, before I'll comment on the particular Mod threads.

I believe that the general reason that you're not seeing the names of items and English modded dialog is because of the dialog.tlk file. The dialog.tlk file has pretty much every string of text for the whole game in a particular language. Most of use here use the English version. Since you have the German version of the game, you have a German dialog.tlk file with all the strings of text in German. It's my understanding that the game is going to try to reference the dialog or items in a mod to a string in your German dialog.tlk file for translation, but since they are mods and don't have new strings in the dialog.tlk file, it is showing them as blank.

Perhaps someone with a little better insight can weigh in as well.

Thanks Sithspecter,

I'm eager to see your Crossguard Saber in Action soon :D

Any chances of it being an upgradable lightsaber soon?

Just what I don't get is: Since the Mods include new Name data for their Items anyway, why can't they include them into a Version of another language so that they work out? I'd rather have english named Items and english dialogue moments instead of blanks and written Silence. I mean even Answering Options are just invisible or just not available in a Non-English Version. I don't have any insight in the modding processes, I'm just a giddy User of your work and thought there was anobvious reason that I just don't see because I never created a Mod...

I'm asking just out of curiousity, I'm not really upset about it, since there are still many enjoyable Mods which work well with the German Version because they don't need any Dialogues changed.

Get TLK Editor, open your dialog.tlk, change language ID to English. That should solve all of your problems. Well, then you'd run into same problems with mods designed for German version.
