TSL: Mods list (Suggestion)

Hello!

I have decided to (re)play TSL after several years and after never finishing it the first time because of a nasty critical bug so I am here to ask advice about the Installation order and Mods compatibility. All suggestions/recommendations are welcome.

 

I have done this so far:

 

1) Installed the DVD version of TSL

 

2) NOT installed any official patch (I presume 1.0a, 1.0b, the HQ movies and music patches are NOT needed)

 

3) Installed Pastramix's Ambient and Music improvements (by the way, the installation instructions are very confusing here as well: don't I need to delete the mus*.wav files that are in the original folder in order to use the .mp3? According to the instructions it seems you just need to dump the .mp3 files in the original folder)

 

4) Installed TSLRCM 1.8.4

The fixed icons are already in TSLRCM. In fact, installing the fix on top of TSLRCM will revert the fix.

Disciple Medibug Fix is also in TSLRCM according to Hassat Hunter.

 

And I can confirm that everything except for G0-T0 Reskin, Movie Style Hilts and Improved AI is compatible with TSLRCM. Those three I've never used so I don't know, but I'm 99% sure that the hilt mod is compatible.

 

Edit: That is, everything you asked about. I don't know about some of the other mods you have on your list.

PastramiX actually came on here a few years ago and said not to use his mods anymore. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time finding the post.

Not needed

As stated, not needed.

No idea what the deal was with that mod, but the issue in question has been long fixed within TSLRCM itself.

What does this do?

Same, what does this do?

 

18) Nihilus/Visas scene

 

Third what does this do? There's already a Visas/Nihilus scene in TSLRCM, so I assume... no. But really, what does it do?

 

20) Roleplay in 103PER & 304NAR Can someone confirm this compatible with TSLRCM 1.8.4?

 

Also; what does this do?

 

30) Improved AI Can someone confirm this compatible with TSLRCM 1.8.4?

 

As long as you use just the .2da not the other files, as also mentioned in the compability sticky.

A good number of those modifications I can no longer provide links for since they were hosted at Filefront but I will try and answer HH's questions about some of them.

 

Kreia's Fall: it is a HQ version of Kreia's Fall cutscene made by danil-ch

 

Kreia's Lesson: This is a modification to Kreia's global dialog. It restores a few lines to Kreia's dialog about small kindnesses and cruelities. Again, made by danil-ch (and Darth Hayze)

 

Nihilus/Visas scene: This is a modification to Nihilus/Visas scene. This file replaces some of the Visas's lines (5 of them) with the ones that been used in pre-rendered cutscene. As usual, danil-ch is the author.

 

Roleplay in 103PER & 304NAR: Made by Achilles. It changes the speed of the so called Space Walk so that it feels you are really out in space.

As long as you use just the .2da not the other files, as also mentioned in the compability sticky.

 

I did read the compatibility sticky but it does not mention anything about using just the .2da file. Perhaps you thought I was talking of the Game Balance Mod by Achilles?

 

If not, can you be a little more specific?

Achilles fix works fine if it uses TSLPatcher, if it just replaces the appearance.2da, then not.

Danil-ch's mods will work fine, they should be hosted here.

 

And yeah, was thinking about the rebalance mod, oops. The AI mod works, but it might lead to your partymembers starting combat on Nar Shaddaa early on, breaking a conversation so you have to deal with Atton and Bao-Dur without 3rd party member, which can be hard.

Thanks for all your help.

 

I have started playing the game yesterday. Unfortunately I already suffered a game crash in Peragus (of course, no idea what might have caused it) but other than that everything seems fine so far.
