Heavy dialogue skipping on M4-78

Recommended Posts

Custom WAV files no longer worked with Aspyr's patch. Solution was embarrassingly simple - we had to convert all our audio files to MP3.

Patch for both TSLRCM and M4-78EP coming tonight or tomorrow, by the way.

Are you guys serious? I thought it was well-established that custom game VOs are supposed to use .mp3 extension :/

I've done that for almost all of the mods that have custom VO

It didn't matter before Aspyr's patch, though. WAV or MP3, it all used to work fine.

Is there an issue over whether the MP3S have to be mono? Because I think I saved my M4-78 lines In stereo for personal use.

Interesting because I could never get files with .wav extension to play.

They always skipped.

44100 Hz Stereo works fine. It's what we use now.

For VOs or some other sound effects? Obviously our custom WAV VOs worked fine.

Last night :P

The patch is already out both here and on Steam, we just haven't made an announcement thread yet. I'll make one later.

Process I used:

Export file from Audacity with lame encoding (.mp3)

Rename extension .wav

Doesn't work. Skips in game.

Keep extension .mp3

Works. Plays VO

Was there some thing with Miles Sound Tool I was supposed to do?

Ah, so you didn't use WAVs, just renamed MP3s?

I know that's what KOTOR does, but honestly I have no idea how or why that works.

We just saved them as wav in whatever program we used to record or edit audio files and they worked.

As I asked before, can you do the same with Extended Enclave (TSLRCM add-on) 2.2 please?

It's not my mod, so I won't be patching it. You can try converting its audio files to mp3 yourself or contact original authors.
