Crash on leaving ebon hawk landing on dxun

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the newest restored content mod

TSLRCM 1.8.3

When I went to get off the Ebon Hawk on Onderon's moon [i.e. Dxun],the game keeps crashing?

Moving this over to the TSLRCM section.

Darkgamer: When you get back, might I suggest you read this thread and report your findings?

I have the exact same issue, I went into the Ebon Hawk on Dxun to change my party and I can't leave without getting a black screen. The game doesn't crash, it is still running, but the only thing visible is the cursor on a black screen.

I tried adjusting all the graphics settings and then leaving, since that what was what was suggested by drunklol above, before the OP said he fixed the problem, but to no avail.

I updated my graphics drivers as well, in hopes that would solve the problem. I'm using and AMD Raedon 6850, and I updated to the catalyst 14.2 drivers (available here http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/6000/6850). This had the unfortunate side effect of causing my game to crash upon loading and of the save files, but this was easily remedied by disabling the frame buffer effects option under the advanced graphics settings. The original issue still remains however.

1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur?

While trying to exit the Ebon Hawk on Dxun. This is prior to heading to Onderon, so I can't travel to another planet.

2) Did you install the latest version of the mod?

Yes, I installed 1.83. When the issue occured, I unistalled the game and the TSLRCM, then reinstalled the game and installed version 1.83b.

3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version?

I am using the Steam version.

4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (Updates are included in the Steam version. Skip this question if you are using that.)

See above.

5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file?

I performed a fresh installation.

6) Did you use the TSLPatcher, if provided?

n/a.

7) Were there any errors in the TSLPatcher installation?

n/a.

8) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.)

I am using only the latest version 1.83b of the TSLRCM.

9) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen?

I get a black screen when trying to leave the Ebon Hawk, while grounded on Dxun. Though the game does not crash, and a cursor is clearly visible. I can also alt + f4 out of the game and the in-game prompt to exit the game will still appear.

10) Have you tried re-downloading the mod?

Yes.

11) Have you tried using a different save game?

Unfortunately all my saves are after I have entered the Ebon Hawk., though saves for old or new runs work fine.

12) Have you tried starting a new game?

Yes, new runs work pefectly fine.

13) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.)

Windows 7 64 bit.

The low graphics thing is for Onderon, not Dxun.

Try re-installing TSLRCM (you can do so over your current game, and keep your saves).

It worked for similar issues on Korriban, and the Korriban Academy and Dxun Jungle have one thing in common; Being modules TSLRCM doesn't modify with .MOD files but the originals.

I tried what Hassat Hunter suggested above, but the issue persists. Though, my version of TSLRCM still says 1.83 on the entry screen, as opposed to 1.83b. So, I'm not sure that I updated the mod correctly.

I already completely unistalled and reinstalled the game and the mod. I tried reinstalling the TSLRCM again, like you suggested, but there was no change.

The issue is specific to this save, I'll be sure to post if I find a work around in the future. For the meantime I'm just making sure to be persistant in having backups for my other runs.

Thank you for you help. Again, I'll be sure to post again if I find a work-around.

I have had problems similar to this before and in my experience it is when the save does not save correctly. There is one solution I have found works sometimes, when you switch the files except for the party table and save game with another save that works correctly, this only works every once in a while because sometimes the main save file is corrupted.
