President Obama Re-elected

Recommended Posts

This I thoroughly agree with :P . I wish we could get rid of all of them but where in the world could we find a non-corrupt politician? :hot:

Non-corrupt politician, lol that is an oxymoron. We don't need politicians, we just need people with good commonsense in office that can actually get us back on track & make tough decisions.

Who cares about what Obama will do! I'm more interested in the fact that Stoney is a republican

Since I'm an immigrant here in the US I still struggle to understand why republicans are always so ticked up by what democrats do. And not the other way around. Not to count democratic popular TV shows made and lead by clowns like Bill Maher or that idiotic "Family Guy" cartoon, but seriously, I don't see democrats running around and screaming that their opponents are evil incarnates, minions of Satan. Only republicans do that. So...what gives, people?

Democrats try to be grownups. It's harder to get elected when you are for giving more and more of the wealth to the rich so they need to use scare tactics. I personally am not a democrat or a republican, I am a social democrat, no I didn't say socialist even thou I have socialist ideals too. I see the world thru the eyes of the working poor of this country, which I have been a member of for most of my life.

You might be missing something. Plenty of idiots on both sides slinging crap.

Perhaps the bigger problem are the people on the right or left that don't think their side has extremists in it.

Edit: See above "Democrats try to be grownups". Exactly the kinda hyperbole that's digging this country deeper.

There's nothing wrong with communism per se. It's just that...You know someone great once said "Capitalism is vicious, communism is impossible." But even if you call yourself a socialist or a social democrat, you must know that history shows clearly that government alone is a veeeeery inefective manager.

Boilpoint: That was why I said try, I know most of our elected officials can't be classified as grownups.

Kerk: True capitalism isn't too bad, it's the perversion of it that has corrupted the US. Oh ya government alone can't do everything, we do need the private sector. We just don't need these giant multi-national corporations that are too big too fail. Any company that is too big to fail is too big to exist, like most of the banks here.

I'm sure it seems that way (don't make enough) but no, I just hate Obama's policies and his healthcare plan.

Stoney are you saying republicans make alot of money? LOL. I think Stoney is a Libertarian. There are really good parts of the affordable care act, like the insurance companies not being able to cancel you for having a pre-existing condition, children being able to be on their parents health insurance til they are 26. Do you agree with his ending of D.A.D.T.? Ordering the DEA to not touch the states that have medical marijuana laws? Ending the war in Iraq? Setting the 2014 date for withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan? Osama bin Laden dead. General Motors and Chrystler alive, even thou it was started by Bush. Pay equality for women? Here is an article for you to read about economic issues from a man that is an economist from Japan and an expert on what went wrong with how Japan handled the financial collapse they had in 1997, My link, it does a good job of explaining things better than the president can.

Communism doesn't work, capitalism doesn't work, socialism doesn't work.

We're all pretty screwed, since every side has a lot of flaws.

Communism fell first, but it's just a matter of time before capitalism fails too with the banks as is, the multicorps, the stockholders needing ever increasing profits.

It may not happen in my lifetime, but it will eventually.

And what will precede it? Not a clue...

Good point HH, maybe we need a combo of the 3. I do think capitalism will fall in my lifetime unless governments keep bailing the companies out and driving the people deeper and deeper into debt.

Hahah! That combo has already been invented. It's called "Fascism". I'm not even joking, look it up. Fascism is when corporations and the government work very closely, and the entire socio-economical system of the state is aimed at a few definite goals. And just like in socialism, fascist government tends to be big.

Communism didn't work, because it is against human nature. Capitalism is falling, because it resembles human nature with all its vices. And socialism is still holding in Scandinavia, because there are 3 small states no one cares about. There is your solution - break the entire world into small meaningless states.

Of course, there is another solution, a utopian one - start changing yourself into a better person, so that someday you'd be willing to sell your own house and give all the money to the poor. THEN, you will be ready to live in communism. hmmm. I've always thought that Marx has stolen his ideas from the New Testament.

Now that the election is over, we must move on to the next great issue of our lifetime:

When will funding be approved for KOTOR III?
